AV_Gamer: Best of 2010

Showing 1-10 of 10 items

Mass Effect 2

1. Mass Effect 2

Bioware completely took over the RPG market in the last two years, and games like this is the reason why. Great story, great character development, great musical score, great gameplay that's seamless with the story, and even a great ending make this the best game of 2010. Add to that some awesome DLC's and it's a no brainier. Funny how the best game came out at the beginning of this year.

Fallout: New Vegas

2. Fallout: New Vegas

Fallout New Vegas surprised me. Not only is it a great follow up to Fallout 3, it's actually a better game overall. Not bad considering this game wasn't made by the same team behind Fallout 3.

Super Meat Boy

3. Super Meat Boy

I thought this game was all hype, until I finally played it. Super Meat Boy deserves all the credit it gets this year. I haven't played many Platformers this gaming generation, but this Indie game reminds everyone what made some of the great platformers in the past so great. This game has addictive challenge, meaning you'll keep coming back for more, no matter how many times you die. This game also has the best replay feature in any game I've played. It tops both racers and sports games.

Darksiders

4. Darksiders

Darksiders is simply a great game. In my opinion it's the Action/RPG version of Dead Space. Meaning it took a lot of gameplay features from other popular games and perfectly polished it in this game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops

5. Call of Duty: Black Ops

Great game by the other Call of Duty developers. Their back was against the wall and they had to produce a decent game or get buried. They threw everything including the kitchen sink and made a game worthy enough of the top Call of Duty games in the franchise. Add to that some cool extras and you have a game worthy to be on the list.

NBA 2K11

6. NBA 2K11

Like last year, I once again have to put an NBA 2K game on the list. Not only does this game have the best basketball gameplay you'll ever find, but the game finally does what basketball games should have been done, decade itself to Michael Jordan. This game is so good, EA had to pull their game, because they knew it couldn't compete.

StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty

7. StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty

Is there really a reason to explain why this game is on mine, and probably everybody else s list? Any game that's become so big it get a dedicated E-Sport, makes the list, period. The Single Player is not bad either.

Dead Rising 2

8. Dead Rising 2

Quite frankly I didn't understand what the excitement about this game or the franchise was about, until I played it. It really is a fun overall experience that you get addicted to and find yourself coming back for more and more.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent

9. Amnesia: The Dark Descent

A game most other people will either not have played or forget to consider for their list. That's really a shame because this dark, horror, adventure game is one of the best nerve racking games to come out in years. This game shows you what survivor horror is about.

Singularity

10. Singularity

This isn't the prettiest game of 2010, but it's great gimmicky gameplay and decent story with multiable endings really shinned through. I hope a sequel comes out under a bigger budget in the future.
