THIS IS MY GAME OF THE YEAR LIST

Showing 1-8 of 8 items

FTL: Faster Than Light

1. FTL: Faster Than Light

What more could be said about FTL that hasn't already been said by others? A great, engaging spaceship management/strategy game. Solid(but plain) mechanics and simple but challenging gameplay that keeps you coming back for more.

Borderlands 2

2. Borderlands 2

Hey, you know borderlands? well there's a sequel, and although it doesn't make any major changes, it fixes problems with the original without changing anything that made the original great. Although it isn't as funny as the original, still a great game!

Far Cry 3

3. Far Cry 3

YO DOG I HEARD YOU LIKE JET-SKIS, HANG-GLIDERS, ZIPLINES, GUTTING/SKINNING ANIMALS, AND SHOOTING DUDES IN THE FACE? BOYYY HAVE I GOT A GAME FOR YOU!

Scribblenauts Unlimited

4. Scribblenauts Unlimited

This year was my first chance to be introduced to Scribblenauts and boy was it a great introduction. Such a fun game, with a cute story and good art direction. Although since i played the PC version i didn't get the Nintendo characters. Oh Well!

XCOM: Enemy Unknown

5. XCOM: Enemy Unknown

Call of Duty: Black Ops II

6. Call of Duty: Black Ops II

Treyarch's attempt to make a Call Of Duty game where story mattered game came out (relatively) well. Great action, great multiplayer, and pretty darn good story that makes you interested in learning more about the characters, especially the lead villain Raul Menendez. It says a lot about the story in a COD game when occasionally i found myself relating to and on some levels agreeing with the message of the lead villain.

Spec Ops: The Line

7. Spec Ops: The Line

Speaking of games where story matters...well......does it though? Who knows anymore. This years darling in the "game about games" category grabs a solid 7 on my list. The game is a mind-fuck. After dissecting the story and implications thereof, you will find yourself down a rabbit hole grasping at tree roots to attempt to climb out.

Sleeping Dogs
