Dragon Age: Origins

1. Dragon Age: Origins

There's no turning back, the next month of your life is forfeit. Like being on the precipice of a wormhole -- you can look away but you get dragged in eventually. Hold on motherfuckers, you're in for one hell of an experience.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

2. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

Uncharted 2 is the equivalent of a literal set piece. It's a game only concerned with the climax. But that's not a complaint, it's just better to think that everything leading up to this game was foreplay.

Red Faction: Guerrilla

3. Red Faction: Guerrilla

EVERYTHING IS AN EXPLOSION

inFamous

4. inFamous

Infamous is a bit rough around the edges, but it's still worth anyone's time to play through.

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood

5. Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood

It's an odd choice, but the gunplay, aesthetics, narrative, voice acting and style are so completely nailed I feel like I have to support the game in some fashion.

Batman: Arkham Asylum

6. Batman: Arkham Asylum

I'm not Batman. But he is.

The Beatles: Rock Band

7. The Beatles: Rock Band

It's over. The Beatles: Rockband have won. Musical guitar games can stop now. Please?

Borderlands

8. Borderlands

A borked PC port makes this game a little hard to swallow, but the underlying mechanics still make one of the best RPG shooters in recent memory.

Skate 2

9. Skate 2

Likely to be forgotten due to a January release, this game dominates over every skating game to be made this side of the decade. The interesting controls combined with a singleplayer campaign that isn't quite so obnoxious in raditude help create something worth playing despite a few poor decisions still floating about.

Killzone 2

10. Killzone 2

You fight bald Nazis with English accents in space.
