Lots of good games this year, but maybe the most fun is lots of oddball stuff -- probably the least "mainstream" games of the year ever? Not a lot of "AAA" besides like Sleeping Dogs and FarCry 3; no main Nintendo or Sony games.
Journey is a Sony joint but its still fairly indie and small. Walking Dead seems like the return of the adventure game (even though Sam and max etc are already out). Sleeping Dogs is like a goofy GTA.

Journey will be game of the year for many (its art!). but I actually had a lot of fun with this game. Too bad they went out of business :(
We will see a lot more of these, don't like the episodic nature, but just wait until they release them on disc. Did i really have "choice" that mattered? i don't think so -- but the story and relaxed nature were fun.
Far Cry 2 was fun, this was better!!! Plot was eh... But the gameplay was great.
I liked it better than GTA -- **edit** I played the PS4 version years later as well. DLC didn't seem to add too much (I never finished the DLC).

Great game. I agree with many who put it as game of the year. Little short for me compared to the rest on this list, but yeah - games as art!
I own but never played 999 on DS, this makes me want to go back and play it!!!
Weird, not great, but this is the year of "weird".
Game? I dunno, but me and Milo had a lot of fun playing it. BURN BURN BURN the world.
