Sonic Forces

1. Sonic Forces

And the moment you’ve all been waiting for...my rant of Sonic Forces and the home of one of the worst villains in history (see: Worst Video Game Villains of All-Time)! This game honestly feels like SEGA trying to push the Sonic the Hedgehog series in everyone’s face instead of focusing on some of their other gorgeous and well-developed series. SEGA needs to admit that Sonic is a dying franchise and has lost its potential in 2011, with Sonic Generations being its last good Sonic game (excluding Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed). This game ultimately and unintentionally admitted that Sonic is a dead franchise. There were so many things I just didn’t like about this game in general. First, what’s up with SEGA over-hyping Shadow, a dying character in the franchise? Don’t they realize there are other characters in the series that are better written than him and should be receiving the attention they deserve? Secondly, I didn’t like how all the levels felt exactly the same, they felt overly repetitive. Lastly, it feels like SEGA shoved E-123 Omega, Classic Sonic, and Shadow right into this game because they needed some more characters and “better gameplay,” whilst not realizing that it just didn’t work. It felt like they were trying to remake Sonic Generations by adding Classic Sonic, who was probably the most random and most pointless character in the game, you could have erased him entirely and the story itself would have been fine. However, I’m not going to deny the fact that the one thing I loved about this game was that SEGA and Sonic Team gave the players the option to customize and create their own characters. It’s something the Sonic community has been waiting patiently waiting for, and SEGA practically mastered it. Score: 1.6/10 (16%)

Fortnite

2. Fortnite

You want rip-offs and horrible cameos? This is the game. As I recall, Fortnite stole several “signature” dance moves from celebrities and sports players, and basically stole several character designs (including Gum from Jet Set Radio and that main character from Attack on Titan). It has a reputation of stealing ideas, designs, and dances, while also being unoriginal. Quoting Jorge Aguilar from Sportskeeda, Fortnite “is filled with Epic Games putting things in that aren't theirs, hoping no one will notice.“ Score: 2.4/10 (24%)

Cookie Clicker

3. Cookie Clicker

Basically you’re clicking a cookie to earn in-game money, and spending that money to make more money through clicks...yeah, not worth it. Score: 2.5/10 (25%)

Sonic 3D Blast

4. Sonic 3D Blast

I had a hard time liking this game, and goes down as my least favorite Sonic game (as of 2021). Sonic 3D Blast fails on nearly every level, and fails even more when it tries to make its super annoying Special Stage levels as hard and complex as possible. Score: 2.5/10 (25%)

Roblox

5. Roblox

I’m not going to say a lot about this game other than it’s unoriginal, plain, bland, boring, and unenthusiastic. And let’s not forget about how many young and rude kids who play this game. I honestly can’t play this game without conscious supervision. Score: 3.2/10 (32%)

Goat Simulator

6. Goat Simulator

This score is solely based on the mobile versions. As someone who enjoyed the console and PC versions, when I played this game on the iPad I literally wanted to throw a temper-tantrum with how poor the controls were. Again, I liked the other versions, just not this one. Score: 3.2/10 (32%)

Columns

7. Columns

Puzzle games are just one of my favorite categories in video games, but this is a whole-new matching game that fails to deliver entertainment...it was just a snooze. Score: 3.3/10 (33%)

Boom Boom Rocket

8. Boom Boom Rocket

This game honestly made my brain hurt. And having to listen and watch it because my brother got addicted to it made my problems skyrocket through the roof. The music is bland and irritating, and goes down as one of my least favorite rhythm games. If you’re looking for an alternative rhythm game, play any of the Space Channel 5 video games. Score: 3.8/10 (38%)

Kinect Joy Ride

9. Kinect Joy Ride

Gets boring after twenty minutes of play. Need I say more? Score: 4.3/10 (43%)

Crazy Taxi

10. Crazy Taxi

Again (similar to Goat Simulator) I LOVE Crazy Taxi...but the mobile version is a slap in the face. It’s hard to adjust to, and it’s one of those games that just simply doesn’t work on iPad, iPhone, and Android devices. If you get this game, I recommend getting Dreamcast Collection, which includes this, or basically any console version of the game. Score: 4.7/10 (47%)
