So I've already made a bunch of lists about games in 2012, but those were largely for me.
There's still a couple things I want to check out before I make any concrete decisions, so this list will be provisional and probably more than 10 games until I get some time to suss everything out.

I can say all I want about how this game was a disappointment, (in many ways, it was.) However, that still didn't stop my fiancee and I from collectively sinking over 200 hours into it a little over two months. If a "disappointment" can still claw that much time from our hands, it deserves recognition.
Ahh, and thus do I expose the intensely personal nature of this list. RE: Rev was my first contact with the Resident Evil series. I don't particularly care about RE fiction, either. (No, not even after playing through the game.) It's probably not a great RE game when compared to RE4 or RE5, either. So why is it on a best of 2012 list? Because it's easily one of my favourite 3DS titles, ever. Because the raid mode alone kept me strung along and playing the game long after I'd beaten it. Because it probably has the distinction of being one of the few contemporary video games that I will likely have beaten twice by the end of the year.
