Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

As a fan of Patrick O'Brian's novels exploring British naval life, this game is a fantasy fulfilling gem. Although I started in on this game last year, I've played it the most in 2016. I had a such a great time swashbuckling on the high seas, building up my fleet, and improving my ship, but when it came to the actual mission design of the main storyline, I was often left disappointed. This game is destined to remain unfinished, simply because after upgrading my ship and fleet to their maximum, I don't have much desire to see the story through to the end.

Love the first half hour, but found myself losing interest after that.

Great style, but I never quite got past the controls and difficulty. A game I can appreciate from a distance.

Not doing it for me. The style seems to be hitting what the developers were aiming at, but it is just not that appealing. The gameplay feels a bit too loose and just didn't hook me.

Super Mario Maker

What can I say, this game continues to keep me hooked. This year I've found a few creators who have produced coherent worlds and series of levels that are just awesome. Something to which to aspire!
