Games that Deserve a Remake

These games should be remade or updated for today's gaming audience. In order of when I thought about them.

Showing 1-10 of 12 items

Kid Icarus

1. Kid Icarus

Make this a full-on 3D adventure. Y'know, for the Casual Core audience...o_O

Chrono Trigger

1. Chrono Trigger

Make this a 3D joint, like the fan-made version that was floating around so long ago.

Strider

1. Strider

Essentially, take the art direction of the 2nd game, complete with fluid character animation and 3D elements, and remake the first game.

Mega Man

1. Mega Man

Make a Mega Man 0. How did Mega Man begin? Is he a man, or a robot? And how did all this robot vs robot violence start, anyway? This game should be made realistically, without the cel animation or japanese art style. I'm talkin' realistic, not Mega Man Legends.

Metroid II: Return of Samus

1. Metroid II: Return of Samus

Remake this using the Super Metroid/Symphony of the Night format. Make it nice, too. And stop making these kinds of games so stinkin' linear!

California Games

1. California Games

Make this into 3D and put it on the Wii. Throw your own Mii into the mix. Incorporate Wii Fit board functionality. Maybe play hacky with the wiimote?

Ninja Gaiden

1. Ninja Gaiden

I know that this game has been slapped onto the XBox 360. I think those games are way over-the-top when compared to what this game used to be. Remake this the same way they remade Bionic Commando - 3d characters and environment, but limited to side-scrolling. Maybe throw in a couple of bonus levels or other modes to create variety. Maybe format it after Super Metroid/Symphony of the Night and include mad loot drops and free roam capability.

River City Ransom

1. River City Ransom

I could be wrong on this one, but this could be the first Brawler Action RPG. I think this game needs to keep it's original illustrative style, but probably use 3d characters and environments. Maybe instead of buying food to max out your stats, experience could be created and included in the game.

Rampart

1. Rampart

How about a full-on 3d remake? Add some new weapons and scenarios and stuff. Online gameplay. I think it'd be neat to actually see the little people that build up the walls and man the cannons and stuff.

Base Wars - Cyber Stadium Series

1. Base Wars - Cyber Stadium Series

THIS game can have some serious potential. Throw it into 3d like modern baseball games. I imagine the gameplay as RPG meets sports. You gotta build up your team...literally. And then when you compete, you're gonna want the best equipment to take that base! YOU GOTTA OWN THAT!
