Here is the list for 2018, a good mix of new and old, separated in half. Unfortunately I did not play a great deal of new games in 2018 but I believe I played some of the stand outs.

While the game play for was lacking (I really dislike that I could not control direction with the right stick(?) like dark souls), overall the experience was great. I really enjoyed the exploration in to Norse mythology, and would recommend this to anyone.
More of an extension to Hitman (2016), this iteration hit all the right buttons of comedy and kills. Hard choice to determine which was my number 1 game this year.
More rats. And Norsca. Chopping time.
This game is a perfect mix of anxiety inducing plate spinning and depressing overtones that makes it standout to me in 2018. A great title with decent replay value.
A good Spiderman game in a landscape lacking in Arkham Batman clones. More of this.
Played it for the first time around the start of the year, and excellent rpg (albiet buggy at times) and fallout game. Now I just need to power through the first game at some point (it did not age as well as fallout 2).
Inspired by Mass Alex and a friend playing through the Dragon Age games, I felt the need to return to the Mass Effect universe. A great title in itself and the start of an incredible franchise that unfortunately fell from grace with Andromeda.
From the campy fmv cutscenes to the refined rts gameplay, C&C 3 was my second entry into the C&C universe after Generals. An excellent game.
Generally put Sam & Max as I played through both the telltale games and the lucas arts game. I love Sam & Max.
More classic rts (I mean this game is 16 years old now so it probably qualifies as classic at this point) that defined my early life from its campaign to custom games. I put this over WoW Battle for Azeroth as although I played it this year it was severely lacking.
