GOTY 2014

Limited to 2014 games. I actually played a lot of other stuff this year. Still a lot of SolForge, enjoyed Gunpoint, parts of Remember Me and every bit I played of Rock of Ages after a certain game put ACE Team on the map in a big way for me. XCOM's expansion is a hell of a lot of fun. Oh, and FTL's Advanced Edition is free for FTL owners and it's glorious!

Life's moving too fast right now for Divinity, Wasteland, Age of Wonders, Warlock and all that. Maybe another time.

Abyss Odyssey

Absolutely love the mythological setting and lore, the simple, yet rewarding fighting system, the great enemy design, the capture mechanic, the community progression and most of all our three protagonists. Pincoya for life though.

Transistor

2. Transistor

Outstanding style and music. I loved piecing together the skills as well as the story. The second impressive synthesis of gameplay and narrative by Supergiant Games.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

3. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

The most enjoyable open-world game in a long time. Tons of shit to do and enjoy in a world tied together by the persistent nemesis characters. Monolith still has it!

Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director's Cut

4. Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director's Cut

Excellent quality-of-life update for an already very good campaign. It's the incredibly imaginative universe that makes this game stand out the most.

Roundabout

5. Roundabout

Kate Welsh is awesome! Actually enjoyable to play as well even though I suck at it.

Luftrausers

6. Luftrausers

Fantastic dynamic soundtrack, great visuals and just a fun all-around pseudo-shoot-em-up.
