Last year I thought Mass Effect 2 was the ultimate RPG experience. I loved Fallout 3 and Oblivion but they were missing something that stopped them from realizing their full potential. Skyrim has done it and then some and in doing so has created the best gaming experience of all time. Can't stop playing!!!!!! EVER
I played this game until I'd seen and done everything it had to offer and drove my family mad from the narrator in the process.
The best pure gameplay of the year. Tightest third person controls and action of this generation.
Almost forgot this one as I have been so absorbed in Skyrim, but the magic of this game has to offer somehow draw my attention away from it for 10 or so hours so that alone is an accomplishment.
Very funny. Cave Johnson is my favourite game character of the year. Fun puzzles too as a bonus.
I love rpgs like Mass Effect and enjoyed what I played of the original. Definitely flawed but still well crafted and fun.
Would be higher but I on;y finished Demon Souls this year and was a little burnt out but from what I played this is just as good as Demon Souls and thus well worth being in my top 10.
Didn't touch the multi-player but the dumb fun of the single player is great for an action movie junky like me.
Being so low on this list shows my disappointment for this game. I'm a sucker for Indiana Jones and loved Uncharted 2 so this should be the best thing ever for me. This game is everything Uncharted 2 was but the brutal difficulty even on normal. For someone who just wants to enjoy the story, it conflicts with its overall design. I'll play Dark Souls for a challenge, not story, but the two don't mix well AT ALL!!! Keep my favourite gameplay experiences where they belong please. Or maybe even better, combine the 2 elements so they fit together perfectly like in Skyrim.
Too much of the same. Too much pointless crap too do with little reward. Too many useless gadgets. Too many plot holes. Too well made to exclude from this list. Mark Hamill was amazing thank god.
