Top 10 Games of 2020

Big game that did not make the list:

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Dark souls combat on a star wars game just doesn't fit, it makes you feel slow and powerless. That said, it's an ok game, but Force Unleashed was much better.

Great Games that I played that did not come out in 2020

Titanfall 2

It really is the half life 3 we never got.

Baldur's Gate

I've been meaning to play this one for quite some time, and it was a rare occasion where the game survived the hype. It is now among my all time favorites.

A Short Hike

This game is a packet full of joy. It plays great, it looks great and it is short. Perfect.

Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos

After many years hearing about this game's story, I finally decided to play it. I was holding out for some time to play Reforged, but after seeing how that turned out, I went with the original. Man, what a great game. Also, I miss having cheats in games.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

1. Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Until last year, I did not understand why people loved this game so much, to me it barely looked like a game at all. COVID also played a big factor here, this game helped a lot with my sanity for a longe period of the year, and I had a lot of fun playing online with my friends and locally with my wife for hundreds of hours =)

Kentucky Route Zero

2. Kentucky Route Zero

I was debating wether or not to put this on the list because I played most of it (Episodes 1-4 last year), but since I did not put it in my last year's list because it was not finished, it was now or never. I really love this game and it is probably one of my all time favorites, the writing is superb and the weirdness is top notch.

The Last of Us Part II

3. The Last of Us Part II

I had very little expectations for this game, and I was not really in the mood for a post apocalyptic game when it came out, but after I saw the hateful response of the fans I knew it had to be good. It's far from flawless, but I really liked it and thought it was better than the first one in every way.

Hades

4. Hades

It's hard to find anything wrong with this game. I love Supergiant, and this is my favorite game from the studio so far.

Half-Life: Alyx

5. Half-Life: Alyx

I am not a VR person, and would have never played this if my friend didn't lend me his headset.

Game of Thrones: Tale of Crows

6. Game of Thrones: Tale of Crows

This was a nice surprise from Apple Arcade. A mix of choose your own adventure with idle game, nicely written and with a beautiful art style. I played a lot of it. Idly.

Crusader Kings III

7. Crusader Kings III

I usually stay away from intimidating games like this one, but after hearing Austin Walker and the waypoint gang tell their stories on the game, I had to try it. Highly recommend!

Ghost of Tsushima

8. Ghost of Tsushima

I honestly expected more from this game. Sure is gorgeous, and plays well, but gets old quick and the story is not that great.

Signs of the Sojourner

9. Signs of the Sojourner

Another Austin Walker suggestion, this game has an incredible mechanic and tells a beautiful story. Also, roguelike indie with cards, but don't let that discourage you.

Slash Quest!

10. Slash Quest!

Another surprise from Apple Arcade. This game has a cool mechanic and very cute graphics. When I watched the credits I also found out a friend of mine did some work on it.
