MERCH!
Giant Bomb - a website about video games and the people that make them

GOTY 2013

Honorable mention to Super Mario 3D World and Link Between Worlds which definitely would have been on here had I played them.

EDIT: I got Zelda! AND FUCK MAN IT IS FANTASTIC SO MY LIST GETS CHANGED

Showing 1-10 of 10 items

Shin Megami Tensei IV

1. Shin Megami Tensei IV

I'm probably the only Giant Bomb user to have this as their number 1 but god damn I love SMT proper and this one was phenomenal.

Dota 2

2. Dota 2

OFFICIALLY OUT OF BETA IN 2013 THIS COUNTS

Grand Theft Auto V

3. Grand Theft Auto V

The heists were a ton of fun, I liked the characters, the soundtrack was off the chain, blowing stuff up is cool.

BioShock Infinite

4. BioShock Infinite

Unpopular opinion: I didn't think Bioshock 1 or 2 were that fantastic but I loved everything about Infinite.

Risk of Rain

5. Risk of Rain

Probably takes my place as favorite rogue-light, dethroning Binding of Isaac (of which I have nearly 200 hours in.)

Fire Emblem: Awakening

6. Fire Emblem: Awakening

Pretty shallow for a Fire Emblem game but it satiated my need for a turn based strategy RPG and had some well written dialogue.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

7. The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

Somehow made one of the best SNES games into one of the best 3DS games and treaded the fine line between nostalgia and fantastic new adventures. I REALLY hope the Wii U Zelda adopts the open world style of this title and most of the other portable Zelda predecessors.

Papers, Please

8. Papers, Please

This game gave me anxiety attacks and stress fits.

Pokémon X/Y

9. Pokémon X/Y

I thought I was out of Pokemon after B/W, didn't play B2/W2, but I heard so much positivity about this from friends I gave it a look, and I felt like I was playing Pokemon for the first time.

Gone Home

10. Gone Home

Fuck what anyone says this GAME has better atmosphere and tension than 90% of the actual "horror" games coming out nowadays. Also the story was really sweet.
