The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

1. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I don't think any explanation is needed...

Pokémon Black/White

2. Pokémon Black/White

Pokemon is just one of those games where I can just sit there and do the same thing for hundreds of hours and love it.

Dark Souls

3. Dark Souls

Dark Souls is tough but fair. Every mistake you make is your mistake. I don't care that I died 10000 times by that boss, 10000 more times of me trying will do the trick.

Portal 2

4. Portal 2

I honestly don't think that I have spent more time invested in a story then I did with Portal 2. I spent many hours just out of game to research more of the story for questions like "who is Cave Johnson" and "How is Glados related to Chell" just to end up with more questions than answers and making me eagerly waiting for whatever Valve ships out next. Plus the puzzles are damn great.

Gears of War 3

5. Gears of War 3

I have been with the Gears franchise since the beginning and with the all the conclusion in the story and more chainsawing goodness, I can not help but love this entry in the series too.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

6. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

I started this year thinking I will not play another COD. I started the month of November this year thinking that too with all the other games coming out. But just something about COD keeps me coming back. Even if this game doesn't change the shooter franchise like it's predecessors, that doesn't mean that this is a bad game and not a blast.

Batman: Arkham City

7. Batman: Arkham City

Keeping up with the almost perfect combat and puzzle structure from the last game combined with an absolutely great story are some very easy reasons to why I loved this game.

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

8. Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

More Uncharted is alright by me!

L.A. Noire

9. L.A. Noire

As someone who was a big fan of RDR last year and love games that make you think, this game was an absolute joy to play through with an incredible story even if gameplay wasn't always there.

Catherine

10. Catherine

Catherine came out at a perfect time during the summer drought and with an engaging story and fun (and difficult) puzzles, this was one I played for the majority of the summer.
