The Game Boy was my favorite system as a kid and well into my teen years. I feel like the Giant Bomb staff doesn't have as much of an affinity for the system that I did as whenever they are asked the question in the email segment about what games they would want on a Game Boy Classic they always seem rather clueless.
note: I tried to leave off third party games to make this list feature games that would realistically appear on a hypothetical Game Boy Classic.

Yellow would probably be the more nostalgic choice but this was my favorite of the Game Boy Pokemon games.
My favorite of the Mario Land games and in my humble opinion the best Game Boy platformer.

Easily my favorite Donkey Kong related games and a near perfect puzzle platformer.
Feel like a proper Mario game unlike the first game plus the first appearance of Wario.
Weird weird game that plays really well but seems off in a bootleg sort of way.
Classic and I can't wait for the remake.
Never played this or Seasons but if they play half as good as the GBA Capcom made Minish Cap I'm down for it.
I've only played this one but I'd love to finally play 2 and 3
