Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

1. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

My favorite game of the year by far.

Batman: Arkham Asylum

2. Batman: Arkham Asylum

2nd. The stealth and action complemented each other perfectly.

Assassin's Creed II

3. Assassin's Creed II

3rd. The parkour can still be a bit wonky, but overall AC2 is brutal and satisfying.

Resident Evil 5

4. Resident Evil 5

4th. It can't stand up to Uncharted 2 in terms of action or shooting, but this was still an intense ride.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

5. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

5th. I despise this game's glitches, finicky servers, and generally unfair and random online gameplay. So why do I love it?

Killzone 2

6. Killzone 2

6th. In terms of graphics and gameplay this was the best FPS I played this year, but somehow it didn't get me as addicted as MW2, hence the lower position.

Flower

7. Flower

7th. This is the best downloadable game I've had the pleasure of playing, and I play most of them. A masterpiece.

Dragon Age: Origins

8. Dragon Age: Origins

8th. What an amazing role playing game this is. My main problem with the game is the lack of finesse and poor pathfinding in the combat (especially since I played the console version.) It makes the game more frustrating than necessary, but it's still an amazing game featuring wonderful characters and an engrossing world.

Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time

9. Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time

9th. It doesn't have the depth of Dragon Age or the intensity of Modern Warfare 2, but A Crack in Time is a darn fine platformer with charming characters. It was quite refreshing to take a break from all of the gunshot wounds and assassinations for a little lighthearted comedy.

inFamous

10. inFamous

#10. This wasn't exactly the gritty superhero story I had hoped for, but the polished gameplay and the good/evil mechanic saw to it that I completed most of my second playthrough.
