Overview:
Tropico 5 is the fifth entry in the Tropico franchise by Kalypso Media. Continuing on from the success of Tropico 4, Tropico 5 is set on the fictional remote island of Tropico where players take charge as the ruler of the island nation.
Their task is to build an empire as the one ruler of the island. This 'dictator sim' allow players to control their country with all new features such as 'Eras' which sets the beginning of the game in an era such as the days of colonization to the Cold War with new tasks and obstacles to overcome.
Other new features of the game include:
- Dynasty- where family members can be appointed to various positions on the island allowing new traits and features to be unlocked.
- Research and Renovate – Discover new technologies that allow for greater advancement.
- Advanced trade system and trade fleet –All new trade network.
- Explore your island – Through exploration discover new resources and assets.
Multiplayer
For the first time players can join in cooperative and competitive multiplayer.
Up to four players can build up their own cities and economies on any given island map. Offering dynamics such as cooperation or all out war, players can choose the destination of the game in the multiplayer mode.
