Time Commando is a sci-fi third-person action-adventure game developed by Adeline Software International (Company) and published by Electronic Arts (Company) (in Europe) and Activision (Company) (in North America) for DOS PCs on July-August 1996, with a Sony PlayStation release on September 1996 by Activision (in North America) and Adeline themselves (in Europe), a Japanese PS1 release by Virgin Interactive Entertainment on November 15, 1996, and a Japanese release for the Sega Saturn on March 12, 1998.

Set sometime in the future, the game's plot involves a powerful military supercomputer capable of simulating any form of combat (past, present, or future) being sabotaged by a computer virus and causing a time-distortion vortex that threatens to engulf the world. As S.A.V.E. (Special Action for Virus Elimination) operative Stanley Opar (Character), players must enter the vortex and take part in combat throughout history in order to stop the virus

The game makes use of the same engine as the studio's earlier game Relentless: Twinsen's Adventure and includes gameplay similar to the director's earlier survival horror game Alone in the Dark (Game), with tank controls and a combination of real-time 3D rendering on top of pre-rendered 3D backgrounds (which are now more cinematic). With the game's use of time travel, the game features a wide variety of weapons to wield and enemies to fight.

The PC version of the game was later digitally re-released by the game's designer Didier Chanfray (Person) (later under his studio [2.21]) for modern PC and Mac (Platform) systems via GOG.com on January 5, 2012, with a Steam (Concept) release on October 9, 2021 and an Epic Games Store (Concept) release on October 18, 2023.
