    Overview

    The 1930s was a decade that began on January 1st 1930 and ended on December 31st 1939. The decade was best known for the devastating financial and economical impact brought in by the Great Depression, the rise of Hollywood cinema productions and the criminal endeavors of the American Mafia, as well as for ushering in the brink of World War II towards the end of the decade.

    The 1930s was also responsible for the early rise in popularity of the science fiction genre, largely due in part to the creation of comic book strips such as Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon.

    Games that take place during the 1930s are often based around World War II, the Mafia, or are based around the Hollywood epics that were popular throughout the 1930s.
