Overview
Steins;Gate: Linear Bounded Phenogram is a science fiction visual novel intended to be a spin-off to the Steins;Gate series, which in turn is an installment in the larger Science Adventure franchise. Rather than being told from the perspective of protagonist Rintaro Okabe, Linear Bounded Phenogram features 10 short stories told from the perspective of each of his lab members. The title was developed by 5pb. and was written by Naotaka Hayashi, the writer of the Steins;Gate and Science Adventure series, in collaboration various writers including Kotaro Uchikoshi, best known for the Infinity and Zero Escape series. Linear Bounded Phenogram was released in Japan for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Vita in 2013 followed by a port for iOS devices in 2014. An "HD" version of Phenogram was later included as a bonus in the release of Steins;Gate Elite in 2018 which was also localized by Spike Chunsoft, marking the first time the spin-off had ever been translated into English.
Scenarios
There are a number of scenarios in the game, with each scenario focusing on a different character.
Eternal Polaris
Mayuri Shiina feels that something has been off with Okabe Rintaro and Makise Kurisu, lately. After seeing the worried expression on their faces, she begins to think that it had something to do with her. Mayuri builds the courage to confront Kurisu about the problem. Hesitant at first, Kurisu decides to talk.
Quantum Excited in Coma
Moeka Kiryu works as a Rounder for SERN. She was ordered by her boss, FB, to create a futuristic gadget and monitor the laboratory. When they discovered the microwave they’ve been researching can also be used as a time-manipulating device, FB ordered her to destroy it and to dismantle the team of researchers.
