An add-on that is short and surprisingly boring 0

I absolutely loved Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, but I skipped Quest for Booty when I read everywhere how short it was. When I got a copy with Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus, I was pleasantly surprised to find my free copy of this game. After years of contemplating playing this game, I jumped right into it. It is short, and I am perfectly fine with that, but the biggest problem with this add-on is that it is surprisingly boring. For a four hour game, it has way too much expo...

One for fans of the series... 0

Ok, firstly, let me say that I really like the Ratchet and Clank series. For me, when I got the first game on the PS2, i was blown away - it re-defined the platforming genre, which was in danger of becoming stale. Now, with the series' first release on the PSN comes Quest for Booty, a mini-adventure which retains much of the characteristics of the previous installments. The plot picks up pretty much where Tools of Destruction left off: Ratchet attempts to find Clank, who has been kidnapped by t...

Bargain Bin Ratchet & Clank 0

I really, really like Ratchet games. This one stinks. The whole idea, it seems, was to put out a small, download-only Ratchet & Clank game at a budget price. On paper I think this is an excellent idea, as I feel previous games in the series often bloated themselves with unnecessary features and minigames in order to justify their price point. Strip away all the chaff and give me a handful of solid run & gun levels and you'd certainly have something that's worth fifteen bucks. The problem ...

An episodic adventure with our favorite Lombax 0

Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction came out last Fall, becoming one of the best PS3 titles thus far. Instead of having to wait a whole year for another release, Insomniac has decided to put out their first episodic release in hopes to keep interest high. Quest For Booty serves as a side adventure to bridge the first Ratchet & Clank Future and the next installment, due out for Fall 2009. A somewhat brief run through the Ratchet universe (with around 3-4 hours of gameplay), every...

Ratchet is as Fun as Ever. Just Shorter. 0

This Review Contains Spoilers for R&C: Tools of DestructionIf you decide to buy Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty, realize that it's only $15, thus the game doesn't need to be extremely long, extremely exciting, or extremely complex. The game is much simpler than 2007's Tools of Destruction, taking away much of the mechanics introduced in Ratchet's last adventure, taking away many of the weapons, and probably most importantly, taking away Clank. If your not all up to snuff on the latest Ratc...

Nothing really new, but just enough to tide you over 0

Tools of Destruction left me wanting more, so I picked up Quest for Booty. It really seems like a game designed to simply tide you over before the release of Crack in Time. As a stand alone game, it really doesn’t add anything of significance new to the series and it is extremely short, probably 4-5 hours in length. In fact if anything it seems like the deleted scenes of the previous video game packaged together. All things being equal though, more of the same of Ratchet & Clank is not a bad ...

    Left wanting for more. 0

This game picks up right where Tools of Destruction leaves off so if you would want to play this game I'd pick up Tools first and beat it.  But if you don't feel like it the intro does a good job recapping everything from Tools.  This game plays exactly like Tools so you should know how it works now, but I wish that all of my stuff from Tools would have carried over to this game since I had everything maxed out.  That is a minor complaint though about the game and the other minor complaint was t...
