Only issue I am seeing is the Steam overlay doesn't seem to work? Outside of that I have had zero freezes or crashes. Game runs buttery smooth.

The overlay should be working as of a few days ago. It didn't work at launch, but a recent patch enabled it.

I played through the game with Fergus, so I missed out on all the LSD scenes. Makes sense that they were with Wyatt.

My favorite scene was definitely the audition on Venus. Before it really starts, I was listening to two of the actors have a conversation. When one of them said his name was Ronald, I did a double take and realized he sounded vaguely like Ronald Reagan. And they never come out and say it, but it's heavily implied that he is Reagan. They block out his last name on the back of his chair, and in the dossier profiling each actor it notes his last name is obscured by coffee stains or something.

Seeing BJ read those lines off his hand poorly was hilarious. And seeing the next actor really nail the lines and impress Hitler was even better.

Yeah, I realized a day after finishing the game with Furgus which is an amazing character by the way, that I didn't got to a LSD scene. We got the robot arm face mush instead which was a little underwhelming compared to the LSD scene.

Brian Bloom who voiced Willian did a phenomenal job with everything, his "actor" line reading and his deliverance was beyond perfect. Him yelling "Nazi Assholes" never gets old.

It's been said before but MachineGames did a amazing job making a bunch of fantastic and likable characters, and also a bunch of them you couldn't wait to murderize.

The Venus scene was great but thought Venus itself was quite boring and unnecessary, Mars was way better designed and had way better weapons.

By the way, did you know you can actually kill HItler before you step into the glass chamber? You can walk up to him while he's on the ground and kick him in the face.

Yeah, as soon as I saw that I had a prompt when I got near Hitler's head, I quicksaved and did it. That was fun. :)

I agree with you about Venus kind of being boring. Just to clarify, the first game sent you to the moon, not Mars. Maybe we'll go to Mars if they make a third game in the series, though. Could be a fun DOOM easter egg over there.

@steevl: Actually, it was my entire user profile in the game that got corrupted somehow. I deleted everything in the Saved Games folder, but the same profile got redownloaded on next restart. What happened next was some cryptic error message "MESSAGE TYPE NOT DEFINED" and the entire main menu had disappeared. So your advice, while good info for other games, would probably not have worked in this case, sadly.

Yikes! That is so messed up.

Another thing you could try is disabling the cloud entirely, which I forgot that you could do. Right click on the game, go to properties, go to the Updates tab, and uncheck the Steam cloud synchronization box. Then try deleting your saved games folder again. And if you're still getting that weird error message, you should probably have Steam verify the integrity of the game cache. There's gotta be a way to get the game back to working order.

If not, that really sucks!

This is the most bizzare problem I've had with any game. I was trying to debug the issues with crashes and freezing and hoping the developer console would tell me more what's going on. It ended up corrupting my save game, and also the corrupted save was synchronized to the Steam cloud, so now I can't even play anymore because it keeps downloading the corrupted save.

My only option was to refund the game! (Or so I thought. Is there any way to delete cloud saves? )

Hmm. That's messed up! One thing that might have worked would be logging into Steam's offline mode, deleting the game's save file, and starting a new game. In theory, the next time you log into Steam properly and try to play Wolfenstein, it'll notice a disparity in the save files and ask if you want to keep the one on your computer or download the one from the cloud.

That's how I fixed a corrupted Plants vs. Zombies cloud save a few years ago.

@steevl: On the first assassination mission that they give you for free (without cracking an enigma code) You can find the constrictor. I killed the dude by creeping through a vent right behind him and stabbing him with the hatchet.

Ah, I remember that mission. Unfortunately, I found the constrictor after I killed the target. Oh well! I can't remember which one it was.

The constrictor would have been a no brainier, if it weren't for the downside of losing health while it's activated. The other 2 have their faults, but no where near as bad/pointlessly punishing. Ended up going for the battle walker, which has been pretty cool so far.

For what it's worth, the constrictor does not immediately make your health tick down while using it. I'm not sure how long it takes before your health starts ticking down, though.

Almost all my crashes were from alt-tabbing. I've also had the mouse cursor appear (as the spinny "loading" symbol) when I accidentally brought up the console by hitting the tilde key.

I also had some skybox issues, although fortunately they only happened to me during assassination missions instead of the proper game missions.

Finished it after about 22 hours because I am slow and read everything.

I chose the Ram Shackles, which were fun, but bummed me out when I realized it blew my stealth on levels when I had to use it.

On the other hand, you can get the other two contraptions in the assassination missions, and I believe you get access to those pretty soon after you get the first contraption.

I haven't found a moment where I can get a kill while using the constrictor yet.

Oh yeah, the Metal Gear Solid series! I played through 1 and 2, but MGS3 didn't look interesting to me when I saw the trailer(s) for it. I later bought MGS3: Subsistence, mainly because it had the original Metal Gear MSX games on it. Of course, I never touched really touched any of them. Years later I bought the MGS collection on my Xbox 360, and I did briefly start MGS3 a few years ago, but never got back to it.

I got MGS4 with my PS3, but that was before I got the MGS collection and I didn't want to touch it before playing MGS3. Perhaps one day I'll force myself to go back to them.

Final Fantasy 3, or as it later become known as, Final Fantasy 6. This game came out just as I was losing interest in video games (which turned out to be temporary). I borrowed or rented it and played for a little bit, and I think I ended up watching friends play it a lot more. Even though this is a lot of people's favorite game in the series, it just never connected with me. Years later I bought the version they made for PS1. I got a little further in it, but for whatever reason it just couldn't hold my interest then either. Now I have an SNES Classic and I fully intend to give the game its proper due. But first I have to play through Earthbound, Super Mario RPG, and Secret of Mana, but those don't count with this thread because I never owned them before.

I've also never finished Super Mario 64. I didn't own it until I got a Nintendo DS, again because I had lost interest in games during the late SNES/early N64 era. Regardless, I never beat Mario 64. When GBeast started the Steal My Sunshine feature, I decided to take another stab at Mario 64. This time, I was going to do it on my Wii via the Virtual Console. I was making good progress, but I wasn't able to do it before moving states in August. My Wii still sits in a box, and I don't know when I'll get to it.

Oh yeah, Psychonauts! I first got it as a physical PC release. Then I got it for the original Xbox digitally to play on my Xbox 360. And finally, I got the Steam version. The furthest I've made it was past a level after the Milkman stage. I really liked it, but I need to get back to the game one day. I tried this summer, but again, the aforementioned move happened and that disrupted everything.

I'm sure I have others in my collection.
