I mean, they said on all the official channels that May was going to be a rebuilding month. They even gave every premium subscriber a free extra month because of this.

I think they could be a little more transparent around these things and get the message out better, but this was wholly expected.

Are dual controls really that hard?

Absolutely. You youngins might not remember a time before duel sticks were the norm, but I was downright intimidated by them as a child when Playstation first introduced them. I'd played some duel stick shooters in the arcades, but there was usually only one button to go along with the sticks there.

Looking back on it, I only really became comfortable in 2000 after playing Ape Escape. That game was basically designed to get people used to duel analogue sticks, so it makes sense. I guess if you want to help people become proficient at using controllers you could introduce them to a game like that.

Using duel sticks or even keyboard and mouse controls is a bit like rubbing your tummy and patting your head. It takes a while to get used to it.

So, you want a sad story, bit of a happy ending, and waifus huh? Hmmmm, might be tough to find an anime that fits all of those, but let's see...

I almost want to recommend Zeta Gundam, but you might want something a little more modern. I'd say Baccano! is a fun time, but not particularly sad for the most part...

You know what? Revolutionary Girl Utena might be just what you're looking for. It drags a bit in the middle, but it's majorly depressing, somewhat optimistic in it's ending and the Waifus? Problematic but there. Might not dig the art style at first, but it grows on you. Also, it's all available for free on youtube in both dub and sub. So that's nice.

Well, it's a $60 dollar open world game. Even if you don't include M rated titles it's in direct competition with games like Breath of the Wild and Marvel's Spiderman. Like, a reviews job is to help a kid's decide between Biomutant and Immortal's Fenix Rising. If Biomutant is not as good as those, frankly excellent, games then it deserves the 5s and 6s it's getting from reviewers.

As for reviewers not taking a child's viewpoint into account, some likely don't because their analytics tells them their primary audience is childless adults. No point in mentioning that if it's a fraction of a fraction of your viewer base. Other's probably assume that it's a given that they are comparing it to similar games in the same genre and target demographic.

Finally, if those darn youngsters of today aren't as discerning as us mature adults then what do reviews matter? They'll just play whatever in that case and you don't need reviews catered to them. If it's just a different set of criteria for children and adults then it's kinda on you, the OP, to enlighten us on that. As far as I'm concerned pre-teens and adults judge games on fairly similar metrics. I certainly knew as a 11 year old that Spyro the Dragon was better than A Bugs Life.

I don't think so. People criticized the shooting and Mako sections of ME1 back in the day same as now, the autism stuff from ME2: Overlord was never particularly well handled, and ME3... well it was ME3.

The only new complaint is the lighting overhaul in the remaster which kinda sucks, but that might just be my opinion. I also thought the Shadow of the Colossus and Dark Souls remasters looked worst than the original, so I'm clearly in the minority there.

I guess League of Legends, but that was more about people being mean to me for my lack of skill than strictly because I was bad.

I mean, I think I speak for everyone in this forum thread that, despite the tears and sadness, we are all very happy that our favourite duders are moving on to the next stage of their lives and wish everyone the best.
