My PS3 stopped reading discs in around, 2010 or so. It was out of warranty, so I tried replacing the disk drive myself. Still didn't work, but at least all my digital media still worked.

I ended up buying a used PS3 slim. At the end of the day it was only around 30 CAD more than the disk drive I bought to try to replace my old one. In hindsight I should've just bought a used PS3 to begin with.

First time I bought a revision of a console. I always bought near launch editions or the cheapest used version before, which was always the launch ones.

tldr; wasted 50 bucks.

In Mega Man X your character starts breathing heavily while at low health. On an ice level you can see the character's breath in that state. I have no idea why a robot has breath, but I always thought that was a neat touch.

I mean, they're Nintendo IPs but they're being developed by Wayforward and Mercury Steam respectively. So, yeah, they're basically indie games with a massive publisher behind them. If smaller developers can sign a deal with Nintendo to make smaller $60 games then that's fantastic for them. They worked hard and earned this opportunity.

Also, every game should be at least $20 more than it currently is. Wages have just stagnated so much that developers and publishers have to lowball themselves.

So, the chronology of Metroid games goes: Metroid, Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Metroid Prime: Hunters, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Metroid Prime: Federation Force, Metroid 2: Return of Samus, Super Metroid, Metroid: Other M, Metroid Fusion, and finally, Metroid Dread.

Metroid: Zero Mission, Metroid 2: Samus Returns, and Metroid Prime: Pinball area all remakes.

Now, Nintendo only adds a number to the titles that advance the story chronologically. This means that interquels such as the Metroid Prime series or Other M are not given a number.

So, the games that came last in the timeline at their time of release are Metroid, Metroid 2: Return of Samus, Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, and now Metroid Dread. In fact, at the beginning of Super Metroid there is a title screen that reads "Metroid 3" and at the beginning of Fusion is a title screen that reads "Metroid 4". I assume this will still be the case when Dread comes out.

tl;dr

  1. Metroid
  2. Metroid 2: Return of Samus
  3. Super Metroid
  4. Metroid Fusion
  5. Metroid Dread

Three points:

  1. Doug f-ing sucks (obviously). Real turn off there.
  2. Glad the Echo the Dolphin guys are getting theirs.
  3. I wanna see Jeff G. play the new Burgertime game.

Bonus fourth point:

4. Those controllers look fun. Like the colours. 65-directions is enough to play Sinistar properly, so it's got that going for it.

I'm more interested in whether or not there'll be ladders in the game. There was a ladder in that reveal trailer, so I'll be super disappointed if there aren't.

Also, any ladders present will surely be buggy.

The year is 2042. It's been over 20 years since the US army got kicked off of twitch. Now, we finally get our revenge...

My conspiracy theory is that Brad, Vinny, and Alex left Giantbomb on amicable terms, and remain friends with Jeff.

Don't mean to "spill the tea" here, but that's what I think.

Good for them. I mean, from the sounds of things Brad couldn't even mention his techpod with Will Smith on the Bombcast, so I think they'll enjoy the freedom of not working for a big conglomerate again.
