Liked me some Final Fantasy 6. Final Fantasy 12; also very good. Every 6 or so numbered entries they make a really good one of those, so I'm pretty hyped for FF 18 whenever that will come out.
I would even disagree with the phrasing "push for diversity". Maybe I'm a cynic, but it seems like a lot of these companies get pulled kicking and screaming into modernity by the creatives that work for them or the audience that supports them. And even then it doesn't support a movement so much as coops it.
Like, it's usually a good thing when more diversity is introduced, but I think it's a mistake to ever think that corporations are your actually advocates of it.

Seriously though, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade and Kid Icarus Uprising all have quality voice over work. I don't think you'll get a voiced Link anytime soon because, ultimately, he probably better as a silent protagonist reacting to the world around him. Especially with the direction they seem to be taking the series with Breath of the Wild.
I know I'm in the minority, but I really dislike those Bluepoint remakes of Shadow of the Colossus and Demon Souls. Don't get me wrong, I think Bluepoint a is technically proficient studio and they do exactly what those projects asked of them, I just think the whole idea was flawed from the get go.
Shadow of the Colossus is such a beautiful game with a great sense of artistic direction that I don't think you can improve on it. The overuse of bloom really made the world feel more ethereal and expansive in a way the remake can't quite capture.
As for Demon Souls, I don't think it has Colossus level art direction, but I still think it is a good looking game. The added fidelity and polygons really takes away from the raw brutalism of the original in a way that I don't think works. There was hostility to that minimalism and it really enhanced what that game was going for.
Wow, did I ever hate the Dragon's Dogma tv show. It has so little to do with the game, and was also very terrible.
Hideaki Itsuno said in interviews that his next project would be either Dragons Dogma 2, or Devil May Cry 5, and they made Devil May Cry 5, so surely they're working on Dragons Dogma 2 now right?
Then again, he also said he wanted to make a new Rival Schools game so...
I love Giantbomb. I have been using your service for 23 years now, and have not had any type of bowel dysfunction since. I no longer support the troops thanks to this show, which leaves me more time to spend with my family.
Weird as it may sound, I associate early 2000's era RPGs with Simpson's commentary tracks. It was before podcasts really took off and I enjoyed listening to them while grinding in Baten Kraitos or FF XII.
