Throughout its media showings, I got the impression that people saw what they wanted to see, rather than what was there. In reality, what they were showing was kind of all there ever was.

This sounds cool as hell. Hopefully the controller feels right, because that's the main thing that's been missing from emulation for me.

I was thinking it would be cool if this was expandable, and they put out a handful of collections on little carts - but now that I think about it, what other games would I even want?

"What is industrial farming?"

Now, excuse me if I sound like some kind of militant vegan here, but it's still alarming how little understanding most people have about how their food is produced. People might as well be eating out of a Star Trek replicator for how disconnected they are from the process.

Anyway, game looks awesome and I am super excited. Excited about the music as well. Martin Stig Andersen is a master.

I loved almost everything about Limbo. It's mechanically simple and not particularly interesting as a puzzle platformer, but I love everything about its aesthetics and presentation - the visuals, the animation (leaning on the boat), the music (I listened to that Martin Stig Andersen soundtrack compulsively for months), the feel of the movement, the storytelling. It's one of several games where the ending suddenly made me understand the structure of the game's narrative and world design, in a moment of perfect clarity (Braid is another good indie example, Bioshock Infinite is a clumsier AAA example) . I'm a massive sucker for that trick.

Also, way to make me fear, respect, and then feel genuine remorse for a giant spider.

I know some people don't care for the abstract narrative of a game like Limbo, and I don't blame people for calling it style over substance, but those are the games that stick with me the most. I'm happy to hear Inside falls along these lines.

Man, I'd break her Gundam, if you know what I mean.

Because I don't.

What was with that Resident Evil 7 talk? When they say things to the effect of "We've been hearing people say that demo was terrible" what are they using for their source? All I've been reading about RE7 is that it's being taken in an exciting new direction and people are digging it. I played the demo alone at night with the lights off and had a great time.

What is going on? The same kind of thing happened with the Sony press conference with the crew feeling that it was one of the worst press conferences in a long time, but the internet was in agreement that Sony killed it. Have they simply become that jaded?

I don't know what their sources are on RE7, but I've seen mixed feelings on it. Not many people seem to think it's a great thing.

As for jaded, I wouldn't say jaded, I'd say they're just being honest. VR fatigue has set in a little, so that side of things probably isn't particularly exciting for them at this point. I thought parts of it were cool, but in all honesty, Bear McCreary and Kojima aside, it kind of fell flat for me as well. Or maybe I'm just absorbing the GB crew's bad vibes?

I loved Final Fantasy XII. It was the first Final Fantasy I played were I actively enjoyed simple combat encounters, and actually sought them out instead of cringing every time I hit a random battle. I loved the setting, but I've forgotten almost everything about the story. I remember it being a lot more subtle and low-key than other FFs - or maybe it just seemed more like a real living breathing world that would have gone on regardless of your involvement.

I remember doing almost all of the monster hunting stuff, really spending the majority of my time doing that rather than the story. It's also one of only 3 Final Fantasy games I've finished.
