Peppy is the long-time companion of Fox McCloud of the Star Fox games. He has the experience and the wisdom to guide Fox through the toughest of situations.

Peppy was part of the original Star Fox team along with James McCloud (Character) and Pigma Dengar (Character). While on a scouting mission to Venom (Location) Pigma Dengar betrayed James and Peppy. Peppy managed to escape and joined the reformed Star Fox team with new wingmates Fox McCloud (Character), Falco Lombardi (Character) and Slippy Toad (Character). As the most experienced member of the team, he is the most frequent provider of useful advice such as "Do a barrel roll!" After the events of Star Fox 64 (Game), Peppy retired as a pilot. In Star Fox Command (Game), he has replaced the aging General Pepper (Character) as the commander-in-chief of the Cornerian Defense Force.
