Paradox Development
Founded in 1994 by Christine Hsu as Paradox Development, the studio was known mostly for developing the games Thrill Kill, which never saw release, and Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style. Also for the PlayStation, they developed Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots Arena and the X-Men: Mutant Academy games. With the new console generation they moved onto developing X-Men: Next Dimension and the Backyard Wrestling games. They worked hard trying to convince Midway to let them develop a Mortal Kombat game and succeeded, the end result was Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks, which was a commercial and critical success and ended with Midway buying the company.
Midway Studios Los Angeles
After Midways acquisition, the studio was renamed to its final moniker. Their final game was TNA iMPACT. Midway, in a cost-cutting measure, closed the studio and merged the team with their San Diego studio; soon afterwards, Midway went out of business.
