Metal Gear Solid
A part of the Metal Gear series, often also considered its own series all the same.
Would you watch a Dan and Drew MGS series?
A MGS series (which i have not played a single game of) sounds pretty perfect for me. But then again just about any feature (premium feature?) with Drew is a definite watch for me.
Edit: Also, Dan has fantastic chemistry with anyone on the squad, so that's again... perfect.
I think it's a good idea, but I think Dan is doing enough premium stuff already. Maybe when he finishes his wow thing.
Yea, do episodes every week or two and get jeff in on it so he can trash MGS1 and I would definitely watch it.
So what you're saying is... endurance run?
YES I WOULD. Yes. Yes! YEEEEEAAAAAAHSSSSS!!!! hat would be great. Can I sign a petition somewhere? How do we get this going?
I would watch Dan play through just about anything. MAKE IT HAPPEN, DAN. GIVE US ANOTHER ENDURANCE RUN. THAT'S RIGHT, I SAID IT FUCKERS.
Not since speculating about the possibility of Brad playing through Demon's Souls have I been this excited about a hypothetical feature idea. Metal Gear Scanlon would be fucking awesome.
The MGS series is fresh on my mind after starting the series for the first time at the beginning of the summer so I'd love to see Drew discover all the crazy shit that was blowing my mind while playing through it.
Just thinking about Drew witness the end of MGS2 makes me so excited.
That would be awesome. I wouldn't mind seeing Brad get in on that action a bit since he seems to be the staff's resident Metal Gear nerd.
This has greatness written all over it.
Also, are we just calling Dan and Drew D&D now? That was quick lol
I think the ratio on my MGS4 run was something like 9 hours of gameplay to 20+ hours of cutscene. If they did this run, there would be entire 1hr+ episodes of nothing but cutscene.
Yeah but how freaking awesome would that be? Imagine MST3k for Metal Gear!
I wouldn't watch it, but I hope the fact that I wouldn't will not affect others from being able to enjoy it. MGS just has never been a fun franchise for me to watch or play.
Never clicked with me for whatever reason.
What would they do during the 30 minute cutscenes?
Piss off half the viewers by making jokes over them? Or bore the other half the viewers by watching them?

Dan would be explaining the series to Drew obviously. Also they are awesome cutscenes so wash that mouth out with pea-soup!
Coincidentally, there was a duplicate of this thread, which I deleted because this is the one with the comments.
Don't you mean a clone?
Definitly, although I would prefer a good solid Drew and Dan simulation corner weekly special, or whatever dumb name such an awesome feature would have.
Also bring back Dave for some flight sim triple D action.
MGS would be cool though yeah.
I would, though I'm not a fan of telling the crew what they should/should not be doing, if only because surprises are great.
I didn't know that I wanted to see all of them play 50-turn Mario Party, but that changed quickly.
So what you're saying is... endurance run?
No, no! Don't say those words! Don't say those words you monsters!
Hell yeah I would watch something like that, I don't even really like the games but I bet it would be entertaining anyways.
No. I'd rather watch Dan play something he's not comfortable with...like...Mike Tyson's Punch Out or Mario Bros 2 on NES.
It's kind of refreshing to see someone who loves the Metal Gear franchise so much. I had very similar experiences to Dan regarding the series. When I played it for the first time on the PSX everything blew me away - especially the little details. Like crawling into the vent and backing out to see Meryl workout in less and less clothing or the infamous Psycho Mantis fight. Seeing as the rest of the staff in the feelings for Metal Gear in the office range from mild indifference to complete disdain, it's nice to see someone that doesn't think it's just "ho hum complete bullshit."

Combine this with stealth mechanics + pacing problems, and you have really problematic game series for this kind of thing. Anything from D&D get automatic 'YES' but there are better options out there.
I feel like they already have enough at the moment, with the demo-disc thing, and with Dan and Drew being the most productive Quick Look-ers lately. Maybe after the demo-disc thing is done, but I'd prefer something they can experience fresh; I've never been a huge fan of hearing people recall games while playing them for long stretches of time.
