Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne
The Matador appears as a boss encounter early on in Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne in the underground passageway leading to Ikebukuro. It draws the Demi-Fiend into a separate realm in order to defeat him and claim the Candelabrum of Sovereignty in his possession. His abilities, which include Red Capote, an agility-maximizing skill, the negative status negating Dekunda and the powerful attack Adaulucia, which can strike all party members multiple times, make him an especially fearsome opponent in the early going.
Boss Battle Strategy
A very effective way of beating Matador is to bring demons that all Nullify Force attacks. At this stage of the game, you'll be around level 15-ish or higher, to which his attacks will hurt a lot. To counteract this, it's a good idea to bring demons like Uzume and Nozochi along, as both tend to carry useful buffs and debuffs for the battle on top of absorbing and nullifying the boss' force attacks. To make things even easier you can buy the Hifumi magatama from the merchant in the Great Underpass of Ginza, which will grant the Demi-fiend immunity to Force attacks as well. Doing so will leave Matador with the only option of attacking you with normal physical attacks alone.
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4
Matador appears in Persona 4 as a Persona of the Death arcana. He is one of the Personas required for the unique fusion Trumpeter.
Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey
In Strange Journey, the Matador has a small chance of appearing in the area Carina as one of the special enemy scan encounters. He can also be fused only as long as a special sub-application is equipped, since he is a Fiend.
