    Rena Genryusai is kidnapped while Guy is taking part in the annual Street Fighters Tournament (in the SFA2), so Maki set out together with Haggar and Carlos Miyamoto. Maki is also looking for Guy who disappeared. If Guy is dead, she will be the declared the next Bushin Ninja Master. She is also searching for Guy as Rena is his fiance. 

    Maki's original appearance was in Final Fight 2, the sequel to Capcom's hit beat-em-up Final Fight.

    There are discrepancies between her "Japanese" and "American" personalities in Final Fight 2. In Japan, she is known to love fighting. In fact, she is part of a gang. In the US, she is known to hate violence.
