    Background

George (ジョージ Jōji) is a former beggar boy from the South American country of Guyana. He traveled to Mexico (where he would eventually meet Raiden in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance) when "a suited man with an Italian accent" offered him a job. After accepting the offer, George found himself in a ship, on his way to a cyborg development and research facility in Mexico as part of a human trafficking scheme by Desperado.

Once in Mexico, he discovered thousands of abducted children like him. Their brains were removed, and they were somehow being turned into Cyborgs. He eventually managed to escape the compound through a ventilation shaft, and intended to have the other children escape with him. Due to the fact that the other children couldn't speak George's language, they ultimately weren't able to escape with him.

Shortly after his daring escape, George was spotted by the UG Bladewolf while being cornered by Desperado owned UG's. Raiden saved him and put him in a secure place while he headed off to rescue the other children. However, George was captured by personnel from the cyborg lab and used as a human shield to prevent Raiden from rescuing the rest of the children who were being poisoned by chloroform gas. George was willing to die if it meant rescuing the other children. Raiden, once again, saved George and killed the chief scientist at the same time after George disarmed him. However, George was hurt in the attempt and Raiden used the cryopreserver in the facility to save George's life.

    Trivia

When George first encounters Raiden in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, he shouts "A Ninja? Cowabunga! Go, Ninja, Go, Ninja, Go!". This is a reference to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Konami have previously developed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games for Arcades, NES, Playchoice-10, Amiga systems, Amstrad systems, Atari ST, Commodore 64, DOS, MSX and the ZX Spectrum.
