    Overview

Charmander is one of three starter Pokémon offered to the player by Professor Oak in the original Pokémon Red/Blue and the release of Pokémon Leaf Green/Fire Red along with Bulbasaur and Squirtle.

Charmander is a Fire-type Pokémon, and resembles a small dinosaur, its red skin and flaming tail giving it an appearance indicative of its type. Typical moves include Ember and Tail Whip.

As a Fire-type Pokémon, Charmander only takes half of the normal damage from Fire, Ice, Grass, Bug, and Steel-types. However, it takes double the normal damage from Water, Ground, and Rock-types. If the player chooses Charmander as the starter Pokémon, then the player's rial will choose Squirtle, the Water-type Pokémon.

    Evolution

Charmander evolves into Charmeleon at level 16, and Charmeleon evolves into Charizard at level 36.
