Overview
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp (known in Japan as Doubutsu no Mori: Pocket Camp, loosely translated to "Forest of Animals: Pocket Camp") is a free-to-play life simulation game developed by Nintendo EPD (along with DeNA and NDCube) and released by Nintendo for iOS and Android devices in Australia on October 25, 2017, followed by a worldwide release on November 21, 2017.
A mobile spin-off of the Animal Crossing series, Pocket Camp has players managing their own campsite while exploring other areas, forming friendships with animals, customizing their camper van, and acquiring furniture, clothing, and other amenities. Much of the gameplay mechanics from the mainline series return, albeit more simplified for touchscreen devices.
As a free-to-play title, Pocket Camp uses a premium currency, known as Leaf Tickets, that can be acquired through microtransactions. Leaf Tickets can be used to ease the game's free-to-play time-gating for furniture crafting and fruit tree re-growth, to make it easier to acquire fish and bugs, to summon animals that are currently not on the camp, and to buy event furniture.
