Sure. It’s my favorite series, and I would totally get that. Honestly though, let’s see where things go after Anthem

I actually think Dark Souls is a great example of a game being overlooked, and then through word of mouth, became a big success. I could be misremembering though.

I hope the “Ironic” train doesn’t run with this game. It’s bad enough that idiots brought Bubsy back, just let this game die.

Sometime shit is just bad, and needs to be disregarded.

Am I the only person that went straight to the Warrior of Light mode, and didn’t play with anything else till I finished? Took me a couple of days, then boom!... all characters unlocked. It’s a pretty cool mode, sure some of it is frustrating, but It taught me some clever tricks.

If you get one of the spirits that make you hard to flinch while also making you slow, give it to Bowser, and that will get you through most of the super annoying challenges. I agree that a lot of this shit makes you want to pull your hair out, but there are ways you can cheese it. Hell, I’m my experience some of the more difficult challenges the ai killed itself while I was dealing with the stages bullshit. Like the Peach one with Mario and giant Donkey Kong, Peach just jumped off the side and hovered down to oblivion.

I never thought of Phoenix Wright as a visual novel, and I don’t believe I have ever heard of any one describing the Wright games as anything but Adventure. I mean, personally I think of genres as just shorthand to use for easily describing things, or as way to sort games. With the way genres meld today, it’s hard to really keep a strict separation.

More to the point of Phoenix right, though. If a person is a fan of visual novels, then they would get more out of Phoenix Wright, than someone who is a fan of what is considered traditional point and click adventure games. So maybe it would be better to describe it as a visual novel, or maybe as both.

I haven’t played the game. I’m kind of waiting for the PC version, but really I’m waiting for it to be twenty dollars. The game looked fine before release, but nothing jumped out at me, and I’m not a fan of Rockstar.

So for me, hearing Dan go from “I can’t wait to platinum it” to “I hate this game”, is probably the most damning thing any one could say about it, and actually means I will probably skip this all together. I completely disagree with Dan on his feelings for Breath of the Wild, but I know that he goes in to every game ready to love it. Especially this one. If you remember everything Dan has said about Red Dead before release, then you should remember that he was ready to dub it his game of the year. So it’s silly that say he is being overly hostile, when all I hear is incredible disappointment.

For me, I’m more annoyed by the needless hyperbole. Saying things like “This is the first game that I have ever played, that feels like I’m actually role playing”, or “It’s revolutionary”.

All of the Random PC stuff. Primarily Bladerunner and Phantasmagoria. All of the videos are great though, and they always make me smile. I love Dave trying to figure out the quickest route to Bowie, in Omikron. That fucking bomb bit in Bladerunner. All of the videos have a few of my favorite GB moments.

The PlayStation 2, was a weird system for me. In its full run, I went through seven of them. I can’t explain what would happen, after a while they would just stop reading disks. Two of them were my fault, though. One I dropped during a move, and the second got an accidental soda bath. It was an alright machine, but pretty much all of the complaints you listed for the 360, is my experience with the PS2.

The WiiU was also pretty disappointing, as it kind of came out to die.

I never assumed your stuff would carry over, and I don’t frequent Reddit. Plus I remember IGN, Gamespot, and Giant Bomb all saying that just the levels carry over. Brad says it in the Quicklook too, I believe.

It sucks that the unlocks don’t carry over, but they didn’t have to include the old levels at all.
