My question is, if they have some form of it playable on the show floor, then why didn’t they show that? Also maybe it’s just all of the cool games showing this year, but Avengers looks bland as hell.
In regards to the Ninja stuff. People are going to say shit regardless, and I think the guy is a putz. Guys that are afraid of women on the basis that they are afraid of accusations, or of people getting the wrong idea, are idiots. Contrary to popular belief, there aren’t a line of women waiting in the wings to take advantage of an unassuming gentleman, who just wants to be a nice guy. I am good friends with several women, and my girlfriend doesn’t mind nor assumes anything. If you aren’t a piece of shit, then you don’t need to worry about any one falsely accusing you of anything.
@nach0sanchez: there was a link in the schedule list that tells you when the conference starts in your time zone, it said 4pm for me when it actually started at 2pm. I think that’s where the confusion is happening.
I love this podcast, and think you guys are always fun to view/watch. Saying that though, I don’t know if the addition of making the podcast video is responsible, but you guys have gotten really bad about talking over each other. It makes it hard to pay attention to what you’re talking about.
@sd_ds: You’re going to get heat, because of your phrasing. I really enjoy Abby, and I agreed with most of her points. She has no less value than anyone on staff, and as was said before, Jan just started and Jason wasn’t even in the room at the end. Nothing needs to be “Rectified”.
I didn’t like Neir. I thought it was drab and over the top. 2B looking like a Live Doll, was distracting and the director saying he just like sexy ladies was silly. I feel like she was justified in feeling uncomfortable. 9S is one of my least favorite video game characters since Carth Onassis from Knights of the Old Republic, and him looking like a child made it harder for me to think he was anything more than a petulant idiot boy. All that said, I respect their list, and don’t care that I have a different opinion.
I enjoyed listening to all of the deliberations, and just like being a part of how they put these things together. I disagree with a lot of what was said, but it’s their list.
I just want to say that Battlegrounds being popular isn’t the surprise, but the game changing the video game landscape is very surprising. You can deny it all you want, but Battlegrounds is going to be remembered as a landmark. I have no interest in playing it, but I can see why it surprised people. Sonic Mania is a good Sonic game, but at this point I don’t care. Resident Evil is half a good game, and half a boring grind. That’s just my take though.
Also, I’m so happy to not be the only person that likes the music of Persona 5, but can’t stand the singing. Those melodies are so good, and the Jpop ruins it for me.
@drakesfortune: Quitting doesn't always result in poor management changing how they do business, especially in a field that's flooded with people looking for work. Also some people can't quit a job, if they're in a financial bind. It's great that you came out of the grind with a good outlook, but some people don't, and being empathetic to their situation isn't a negative reaction.
Sometimes people love what they do, and don't mind putting in the extra work. I did a thirty one day stretch of fourteen to sixteen hour days, and all I learned from it is that I can do it, but it's miserable. I completely understand why it bums Vinny out.
