Should be up to the creator. If they the consumer doesn't like the message or theme of a game then don't buy it. Someone else out there is making a politic free game that you can play instead.

@buzz_killington: I'm glad I'm not the only one who was thinking this. I feel like ever since people started anticipating this Snyder cut that I'd walked into an alternate universe where he actually made a hit DC film to back up this expectation of being a savior to this movie.

Technically second party I think, but my answer can only be Golden Sun.

@ll_exile_ll: Thats probably the best news out of all of this. The question remains whether they have enough talent left and enough time to do something worthwhile with DA4 though. Hopefully yes, but we'll see.

Probably a good idea on their part. Sucks for everyone who bought it though including me. I'd really rather see them get Dragon Age and Mass Effect right though, so I'm kind of glad they aren't diverting their attention with Anthem more.

Chrono Trigger gets my vote for sure. From the battle theme, to the fight against Magus, to World Revolution, and even just Lavos' classic theme it's all pretty great and thematic to whatever era the characters are in within the game.

I wouldn't call gamestop a bastion of obscure games. They have new and used copies of most of the common recent releases, but if you go hunting for something obscure you're more likely to find nothing worthwhile. Problem with gamestop is that while you can get used games cheaply, I can also just wait for a huge sale that seems to happen quarterly or at least twice a year at most retailers to get a new copy for the same price I'd pay for used on an average day at gamestop.

GameStop's trade in rates alone makes it a bad idea to trade obscure games to them. They'll give you a dollar for something old and hard to find when you could just sell it yourself and judge the scarcity and demand appropriately. I could walk in with a legitimate copy of pokemon heart gold or soul silver (using pokemon because legit old copies are notoriously hard to find cheaply) and walk out with less than $10 or I could sell it online for $100. As people realized that selling your stuff online is really easy now, gamestop lost their flow of games outside the usual "I played the new madden for a month and now want to trade it in".

Still definitely fun. There's a lot of content to explore and different challenge modes and things. And it's smash so even just messing around in free for all's against AI is fun to a degree. The online is meh though, so don't expect a highly competitive online experience, but sounds like you're more interested in solo content anyway.

It's not really a video game genre but I grew up being the DM for a group of friends with D&D. Which involved a lot of organizing people, leading sessions, prepping content for the group, prompting players, and driving everybody's engagement with the game, etc.

My current career involves something akin to project management within IT. I lead meetings, organize communications, ask questions, prompt discussion to make sure everyone is thinking everything through fully, prep the criteria for projects that developers work on, etc. etc. Basically grew up to be an IT Business themed DM, so I guess the old Forever DM cliche holds true.

@bigsocrates: Absolutely agreed, which is why I find the point giant_gamer is making about avoiding "losing" by bringing up politics irrelevant to the reason people are disengaging with the thread.
