Games That I've Completed

Posting a game on this list doesn't mean that I've unlocked 100% of it, it just means that I have at least completed the Story portion of the game, or whatever the main focus of the game is.

SCORES:

10/10 - Nothing is perfect, but a 10 is pretty much something that excels at everything that it does and is highly enjoyable. A 10 is a rarity. Easy contender for one of the best games of all time.

9/10 - While it has a few minor flaws that prevent it from being a 10, it still excels at everything it does. Contender for one of the best games of all time.

8/10 - While it might have a lot of minor flaws, or even one big flaw, it's still a great game and is worth checking out. Possibly one of the best games of all time, or at least a "Game of the Year" contender.

7/10 - Still a decent experience, even if it's not amazing by any stretch. Still worth checking out.

6/10 - An above average game. Can still be enjoyable under the right circumstances, such as being cheap/free, or appealing to a certain demographic.

5/10 - Distinctly average. Nothing really good about, but nothing really terrible either. Basically the most boring types of games. This is where I stop being able to recommend a game.

4/10 - A below average game. This is where a games problems start to overshadow the game. Whether it be technical problems, or the simple fact that the game is either unpolished, lacks features, or can't overcome just how boring or unappealing it is.

3/10 - A 3 out of 10 might have some good ideas or features, but is a buggy and/or half finished mess. Possible contender for one of the worst games of all time, or at least worst game of the year of release.

2/10 - It might have a few minor good things about it, but the whole thing is still a complete disaster. Easy contender for one of the worst video games of all time.

1/10 - Literally unplayable. Buggy game, broken mechanics, ugly graphics, annoying sound, poorly written story, bad multiplayer. Easy contender for one of the worst video games of all time, period.

GUILTY PLEASURE - A game that has many flaws or is unappealing to the majority of people, but can be enjoyed regardless.

NOTE: 8's, 9's, and 10's are games worth playing immediately. 6's and 7's are worth playing on a sale, or are already cheap.

Anything below a 6/10, I recommend avoiding.

I try to avoid using decimals as much I can, but I do use them once in a blue moon.

The comedy is mildly amusing, it's a decent homage to Nintendo 64 games, and it doesn't overstay it's welcome.

But there are a few problems bringing it down.

The spider bots are obnoxious. The only way that you know they're there is a 'mechanical noise' and suddenly they're running towards you out of nowhere. I don't think there was a single time where I wasn't killed the first time they appeared on a level. They can kill you pretty quickly, and when you kill them they explode and can kill you in one hit if you're unlucky, or bring you to low health, leaving you to scavenge for health.

There are also the boat sequence and the skiing sequence. I'm pretty sure that I was controlling the camera and not the boat or the skis themselves, as the camera got stuck on the geometry while the boat continued as I pressed down the W key.

Plus both have some of the slipperiest controls that I've ever seen and the driving mechanics really need to be re-implemented. The skiing section is the worst of the two because the first half has you skiing down a small corridor with easy to hit rocks.

The song during the credits of Prey gave me whiplash since it didn't fit the tone of the rest of the game at all.

Why do all of the cans sound empty when I pick them up despite all of them being full?

I really like the cloth physics.

There were a few times when the camera angle broke and got stuck on a certain angle.

I know that a wheelchair isn't exactly the most mobile thing ever, but it's still a little clunky to control.

A fun little interactive music visualizer.

The loading screens give you trivia about trains and train stations around the world. The more stars you get, the more unlockables you get for your toy train collection. Perfect for playing while listening to a podcast.

There were a few minor glitches that prevented me from getting 100% at a specific station, like objects falling through geometry. There are very few graphical options, such as not having AA. Also, I'm pretty sure that something that looks like this should be running a lot smoother. It was running fine, but it could have been running a lot better.

  • RIP PlayStation Home. You were just OK, but you were still a fun little experiment.

  • I first played this on a computer in one of the school classrooms and spent way more time playing it at home.

The game is pretty short, ranging from an hour to an hour and a half at most, but it's a pretty lovely experience. Comfy.

One section turns into a Resident Evil clone if you're in third person with the static camera angles. it has picking up items nearby whatever needs them and even has a code scrawled on a wall. It even has a few brief cutscenes.

On a technical front, it's a pretty good looking game for it's budget and development team size. Sure, it's a series of small arenas and hallways, but there are games that couldn't even make those look good with a bigger budget and team. The game is also going for spectacle, which it does fairly well.

The gameplay loop is simple but highly polished, with both gun and sword combat and that uses combos to help take out enemies.. But it is pretty obvious that the game was designed for a gamepad because the default keyboard controls and a little weird.

But it has two pretty big problems. The first is that it doesn't bother to properly introduce it's characters and plot, making it feel like it's the second game of an already established series. Considering that this game is going for spectacle, I wasn't expecting an in-depth story, but I would still appreciate being introduced to who and what is going on.

The second big problem is that it's incredibly short. I completed this game in 2 hours, and I'm not known for completing games quickly, even on the easiest of settings.

So unless you get it pretty cheap on a sale or get in on a service like Xbox Pass, don't bother.

Is M.U.G.E.N capable of making a good fighting game? Yes.

But that doesn't happen 95% of the time when someone makes anything for this game and yet it's still entertaining even if it's an entertaining mess for that 95% of the time.

A lot of this games appeal relies on playing with friends, but it's still fun.

  • 8/10

One of the few times that I've like a game using fourth wall humor.

  • 8/10

One of the most pleasant games that I've ever played, making for a nice distraction when I don't have time for other games or want to quickly play something. It's also good for when I want something to do while listening to music, podcasts, or videos.
