Unless I'm misunderstanding, Alex complains that David Cage is hamfisted and unsubtle, then complains that he didn't have all the characters say "Hey, this is like racism guys"?
I have never been a huge fan of Cage's work, but I'm super into the idea of his games. The incredibly cinematic adventure game thing. People comparing him to Uwe Boll are absurd though.
It really seems like everyone decided they hated this game as soon as it was announced.
Spelunky is, I think, the only game that I actually enjoy watching others play. I've watched hundreds of hours, thousands perhaps, of Giant Bomb content over the years. And I like the videos obviously. But I watch it for the commentary that comes out of playing the game more than watching the game itself. With Spelunky, it's great to watch someone figure things out. Or a master do something crazy impressive. I ducked out of Murder Island pretty quickly. I don't stick with any This Is the Runs, I didn't finish Steal My Sunshine and I haven't watched past the first few episodes of Xcom or 13 Deadly Sims. But I would watch Spelunky being played on here for the rest of my life.
Wow, I did'nt expect to see so many people agreeing that Sonic Racing > Mario Kart. There seem to be a lot of people that just don't give Sonic a chance "because Sonic lol". And yeah, I can get it to an extent. The series' name has been dragged through the mud enough that he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt anymore like Mario always will. But in this case Sega simply beat Nintendo at its own game. Mario Kart is rightfully THE name in kart racing but it's good to have its dominance challenged from time to time. I hope Sega makes another one.
Between this and the DBZ podcast, it's hard to put into words how refreshing it is to see the guys try out new things like this. I'm not even into DBZ these days, but to see people sincerely giving something a shot is so enjoyable.
If I had a drink, I'd have spit it out when Dan said "Jason, why didn't you ever tell me Monster Hunter is good?"
That Best Looking discussion was hard to listen to, man. I haven't even played Horizon but seriously, that it was even in discussion for being left off the list is baffling. And Destiny 2? Seriously. What the hell.
