+1 for alpha protocol, though I think at this point this game has pretty much achieved cult classic status and isn't nearly as maligned as it was when it came out.

Quantum Break: it feels like that game came and went and if people talk about it today they'll just make some derisive comments and move on. But to me it is absolutely another great remedy game, and not a lesser one compared to Max Payne or Alan wake, which I also love to death. The production values are insane, the story and characters (especially Beth) are intriguing and the gameplay is as far removed from standard third person shooter fare as you'll get from Western developers. I even liked the TV show parts, though admittedly I don't watch a lot of modern TV, so my standards here might be lower than for some people. But to me this game epitomizes that remedy always reinvent themselves with their games. they might have some similarities (e.g. they really like slowdowns and obviously they are all third person shooters), but they feel totally different in the way they play, from each other and from the rest of the industry. Before I played QB I thought I'd rather want Alan wake 2, but afterwards I was glad they made that game instead, because it really felt fresh and different again.

I think it worked quite well on a game I absolutely despise (Beyond Two Souls - 46%). Didn't work very well on Alpha Protocol, though I didn't expect it to, since that is a game that is among my all time favorites despite the fact that I think that almost all it's individual pieces - graphics, combat gameplay, characters, story, music - are somewhere between unremarkable and not great. Alan Wake came out a bit lower than I woulda liked, but wasn't totally off base.

In any case, I think this is a cool and interesting thing, I might try to feed it some more games.

Spontaneously I'd think actimel-sized would feel about right, so 100ml.

I finished Saboteur for the like the 5th or 6th time yesterday, and boy that game might very well be one of the best open world games ever.

It tells a not terribly original, but totally fitting story, in a mostly competent way. It has some real nice setpiece moments that don't feel forced or out of place. It strikes a tone that feels cohesive, but not one note, with it's blend of occasional brash humor, action movie hero quips, high stakes drama and pathos.

It uses the open world to allow for different approaches in the main story missions. The shooting is solid and the stealth surprisingly decent, with a small hint of hitman. The side content (sabotaging, i.e. blowing shit up mostly) doesn't feel tacked on or like some laundry list and instead feels like a natural part of the setting that adds to the immersion.

The soundtrack is killer. The graphics, while never amazing, get by enough on the artstyle that it's still playable 10 years later.

It's an unbelievably good game, one of my all time favorites.

wow, yeah, a level for the game mode they sell on phones for 1€ doesn't sound like people are getting their moneys worth here.

This seems like a true video game miracle to me that I never believed could be actually possible. Troika long gone, greedy Activision as the publisher of the original. And I remember talk a couple years ago that the World of Darkness version Bloodlines was based upon was outdated so a true sequel would even be impossible from that licensing angle.

And yet here it is, and it all sounds like everything a fan of the original could have ever dreamed of so far. Unless I can't play as a goth cheerleader malkavian, because then fuck that game...

I bought it because it's been the best reason yet to give them some money after roughly 100h of play time. I still don't really care about it. The Lifeline skin is ok, and I actually think the stat trackers are the most interesting customization option in the game anyway, so I don't mind that the battle pass leans towards those. But ultimately I'll still keep playing the game because it is/can be so much fun to play, not because of any arbitrary progression.

It's been pretty much just APEX in the last three weeks. I'm not very good at it. I've "won" my share of games, though that usually means something between "I didn't do any damage, didn't get any kills and didn't revive anyone, but the pros let me tag along anyway" and "cool, I got a/2/3 kill(s) and revived a person, but my teammates still did triple the damage I did". If I'm the best on the team, we usually make it to somewhere between 5th-10th place at best. My best solo-bathtub-wiener run was second place, where the first enemy engagement lead to my quick death...

I don't think the Legends are particularly interesting, and the customization stuff and leveling up are kind eh, but it's just so much fun to play. Again and again and again...

As a huge fan of the first game, Catalyst didn't do a lot for me. Though I did think about getting it for the pro again on sale at some point, because I played it on xbox one s and had some severe graphical issues with reflections and stuff.

None of the changes for Catalyst were necessary in my opinion. I actually didn't dislike the combat in the first one, so what they replaced it with did not feel like an improvement. I didn't need the pseudo open world stuff, since a huge part of the fun in the first game was finding out just how many ways there were to get around what only seemed like linear levels. I don't like the colder, cleaner look of catalyst as much as the unique style of the first game. I also think that the inclusion of the grappling hook was very unnecessary - especially since, as I understand it, that is absolutely against the ideals of parkour.

The only thing I really wanted improved was to replace the animated cutscenes with all ingame cutscenes, since what few there were in the first game were pretty great (first person hugging your sister!), and the cartoon stuff wasn't.
