@jstaunton: the drop down defaults to premium audio. I also had to double take at first.
Pretty good day one. Seeing that reel of Uncharted/Mass Effect/Last of Us is the first time ever, e-ver, that I'm glad that Brad is no longer with the site. A trilogy that aged like milk. Makes me feel less bad about the impending Elden Ring GOTY announcement.
I can't believe the metaverse pivot wasn't thought of before. It's such a great, unironic fit! (as long as it's kept in grassroots VR and not actual gross metaverse web 3.0 sludge)
As twice now, my top goty pick was scratched from the count, while games from like the fucking stone age have always crept into the list, I won't be voting in this waste of time anymore. Just wanted to voice that.
I was not expecting my list to make it, due to my habitual poor timing, so thank you so much!
It also made me go back to the list and add a few games that I missed. It was nigh impossible to find a complete list online, so I ended up just watching the show again. I also had to add a few to the wiki, but i don't mind doing that at all.
As someone who plays 2-3 farming sims in rotation, I thought what I played of Harvestella was the most refreshing take in a long time. Shame you didn't take to it.
@sombre: Yup! Fully agree. OG Tomb Raider was one of those I had on my list, until I removed them because of level design being the crux. If you didn't need to be pixel precise (on top of all the weird camera stuff) on all those jumps, the core mechanism would be less memorably awful.
@zombiepie: I never played a lot of LBP, but also the stakes of that game aren't that high that it matters how mushy your jump is. It very much plays like a generic Unreal Engine 3 game that didn't change a single default. For me, something like Fall Guys, with its competitive edge, is a good stand-in for it.
