I liked Death's Door. Otherwise I have not been much interested in this years games as far as those so called heavy hitters are concerned

I am thinking I will play Psychonauts 2 before this year's end. And perhaps Res. Evil Village, also. I'm waiting for Prodeus to be a real game

But I have had a blast with smaller games in my backlog.

Come to the Halo Playground, do we have a treat for you!

Roar!

I rather agree with @therealturk about ambition. But I also understand. It is going to be an all ages game, in effect. We still have the edgy dialogue (thinking of you, Gears 5) and of course, whatever is implied about Cortana, and Master Chief's origins.

I'm suddenly interested, after reading this thread. Although it is in the GeForce Now.

If video cards get ridiculous, this may be an alternative to getting a console.

I deal with it okay. I bring down a rather largish plastic pumpkin with a little Christmas tree light in it, and buy the required candy. Come Halloween, I hike the pumpkin out front, place it on a stool, and plug it in. When evening comes, I put on my Alex Navarro scary t-shirt, and wait for the children to knock. Last year, several of them said they really like that shirt...

Anyways, kids will show up, and then they will go over to my next door neighbor's display (walk in with motor-ized scary monsters and with lighting (strobe even!) to ooh and aah. He does a really good job. There might be a good number of kids, or really just a few large packs and some duos and trios. It's actually over in just a few hours.

Next day I put the plastic pumpkin back in it's plastic bag, and put it away for the next year.

Job done.

@ghost_cat: I've been trying (and for the greater part failing) to develop an appreciation for Anime. So some time back I gave Death Note a whirl.

For me also the first part was at least interesting. But within 2 episodes of the second part (season?) I quit with the idea of cutting my losses in time and attention. It looked like a theme that could go on forever...

It's the Boss fight against the Tower Knight, when Danny played it, I noted the absence of the original score for that fight. The first was actually pretty unique with a chorus of sorts, and a approach that was...different. Eclectic almost. It reminded me of Jazz in an alternative universe, but certainly not this one. I really liked it.

And of course, it was not in the re-make.

@av_gamer: I partially agree with you about their internal politics and culture.

But I have been hearing of their decisions affecting what the rest of the world can see and play. My fault for not being to present them concisely, but generally it's China somehow censoring a Taiwan horror game that perhaps inadvertently made supposed fun of Xi, And something(s) I have heard about Tencent. As others have said, I may live in a country that has problems of it's own. But I am just plain adverse to any foreign entity enforcing what I view as internal restrictions outside their domain. Especially when I see capitalism of all things sucking up to them, because of a desire to acquire more Chinese currency.

Though it is rather humorous.

I would not mind at all them mentioning when it affects video games. Which it has, if I remember not too long ago a game out of Taiwan, and some indirect reference to Pooh Bear (a supposed reference to Xi). Talk about thin skin...reminds me of a former president, or Putin.

This may seem shallow, but this is a video game site (except when it isn't) and they are ill equipped to talk about international matters, beyond opinion. But in the realm of Video games, and whatever lies directly next to the subject...Have at it!

I am not (at all!) hostile to the OP's concerns, but a Video game site does by it's own definition has limits in discussing international affairs with authority.

PS And as @sethmode says, differentiate between the people, and the Ruling Class, Party, Elite etc.

It's Vice City I would look forward to. It's the only GTA I've played to near entirety. I had terminal trouble on the pc with a mission towards the end of it, but I loved that game.

Afterwards I fell off The GTA's, every-one I tried.

I'd really though would want to see the improvements...

I do a minimum subscribe. I really do like the personalities. I've only listened and seen these guys for well over a decade. However, what they are doing doesn't always send me out of the park. Much works. some I do not watch, strictly by my own personal preferences. For example, I am really not much of a Life is Strange fan. Not of course a concern of theirs...

In fact, if anything, they seem to follow their own preferences, like factory/assembly games, FMV or say Hitman etc. I'd actually like to see them do something...unusual? Perhaps I have missed it. On the other hand, I finally really liked that last FMV game.

As for commenting on or about life and other non game related stuff, I suspect these guys won't respect self-imposed strictures on what they might have to say. And Abby shows up a bit. But I have never heard them say much except the usual and what they are doing. Tbh, I have yet to listen to a whole podcast yet, going to do that someday...
