Of course this was started by a lobster head. Cant believe people actually use the "you cant say anything about him until you watch these 4 hour videos".

We get more characterization from Mimir about how Thor, Odin, and most of the Aesir than we do for Faye. Odin comes off as a paranoid despot while Thor comes across as a mean asshole that gets wasted all the time.

Faye just gets mystery for mystery's sake. I'd be fine if they correct this in future games and at least explain a little bit about what kind of woman she was, but as it is, with one game, we know more about the motivations and personality of Odin than Faye. They screwed up this time and them possibly righting it in the future doesn't change it as it is now.

As far as the Valkyrie's go, I put it in the same box as why Quiet is naked all the time. Because the creator wrote a reason to explain what they wanted. I don't think it was for malicious or fanservice reasons, though, and think it was just a way to include a way to fight Valkyries but not make them permanently killed off in the future. They're a huge part of Norse lore, so it makes sense that they wouldn't want Kratos to kill them off, but they probably could have found a way to do that without having the whole "brutally destroyed and thanking their killer" part in it.

Glad Monster Hunter was a sure lock for top 10, and ecstatic it's not just in the "pity 10" slot.

I think I agree with Abby about Tetris. It's a great Tetris, but it's also Tetris. I think the zone effect is something they'll bring back in future games, but for the same reasons Hitman was lower on the list, it's more of the same great game. Dead Cells is a unique entry that I think deserves the top slot over a great version of a game everyone knows how to play.

Thanks for this. I'm really interested in doing Brad's run.

This poll seems like an extreme way of saying you disagree with people's Top Ten lists.

The recent GOTY deliberation videos stop playing after a while, usually around the hour mark. I have to refresh the page entirely before they resume from the saved position. I don't know if this is unique to the YouTube player or not, I just thought I should report it anyways.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is turning out to be a really great show. It's another Isekai, yeah, but it's done really well in a style more like Overlord. It's cute, it's interesting, it's intelligent, and I kinda dig that it's involving the everyday monsters of this fantasy world rather than human heroes. It kinda dragged a bit to introduce some concepts and characters here and there, but once the Ogres finally show up maybe 9 episodes in (after being in the intro for forever) the plot starts picking up again. Like Overlord, I find myself rooting and excited for just how strong the main character and their minions are and how they're getting stronger and evolving (though I think I liked the Ogres more before they evolved).

One thing I really love is the sound design. All of the abilities and attacks have an impact to them that aids the action and just feels great. It's kinda like how the gun sounds in Destiny help make the shooting feel even better. They certainly sound a lot better than a majority of the attacks in Gridman.

I really wouldn't sleep on it.

I think for the community voting it'll come down to if the game got enough points to have somebody go "Yeah the DLC was significant this year". At least, that's what I got from the description when it came to nominating old games.

Don't let it stop you from voting for it, though. I put Destiny 2 in my list because Forsaken was really good.

We sorta get it for the Christmas DND casts that Austin helps with, but I'd love to see more of that content also. I know it's not videogames, but I think its genuinely fun content that fits in a personality driven site like Giant Bomb.

Guess we can hope they inject something like this into a future Extra Life. Maybe donation incentives (first $6.87 donation decides my role) or something to get the community involved.
