True but you get what you pay for...
PlayStation Home
Game » consists of 1 releases. Released Dec 11, 2008
PlayStation Home was a social games network where PSN users could play games and socialize. Home saw a refocus in Fall 2011 in North America and Europe that put more emphasis on games than social spaces.
HOME, still excited?
"shadows_kill said:It's enjoyable in a lot of the same ways chatting in a forum on a website is. It's a 3D social networking application. That's it. People are talking about it like it's supposed to be Sim City or WoW. It's a way to meet other PS3 owners and maybe have some fun doing other things than just talking. It was literally only made for people to hang out. If you like hanging out with people (strangers or not) then you'll enjoy it. I'm personally a social kind of guy so I loved the 15 minutes I spent in home yesterday, standing in a circle with about 20 other people discussing Sonic games."LiquidPrince said:I'd rather not have it at all...I don't know how anyone could find Home to be enjoyable in any way.""So is this ever going to be released..."well at least its free."
"The problem is...I don't find this as a decent 3D social networking application. From what I've experienced I find nothing in Home that would ever make me want to use it."dude i dont know man, me a bunch of my friends who own ps3 have been having lots of fun with what little home has to offer right now.

I've lost most excitement for home. I think its because at one pont I actually believed some of the false release dates people like to put up. Its just been so long since it was announced there seems no need to follow the hype until its released or I become a beta tester.
"LiquidPrince said:What good is it if it is free and I don't actually have it in my possession, or ever will. It's teasing us."So is this ever going to be released..."well at least its free."
I found that without a keyboard or standard headsets with every PS3 home is a little sparse. People walking around aimlessly, no one knowing what to do or where to go, 25% of people communicating... It all just seems empty.
I know it's the beta, but I now am not looking forward to home. I can't imagine with more people there will be more folks communicating. And waiting to play the games in home? Just silly.
I don't think I'll come back to it.
after messing around with it Im 50/50 on the excitment level,it definatley has potential thats for sure
Comes out tomorrow for everyone.
I really hope that PS4 announcements includes this game out of BETA, that would be the most crappy and Awesome things ever
@strikealight: You jinxed it!
@twoonefive: Just seems like a waste of money for Sony while developing it. This money could have been used for more games. Seems like a very expensive feature that hasn't been appreciate very much on the PS3. Used it once and wasn't very impressed seems like a waste of time that I could be better using while playing actual games.
looking back, yeah, what an utter disappointment. its just one of those things that one paper the idea sounded very cool, but in practice came off pretty lame- not too mention how poorly constructed the whole damn thing was (insane load times, pointlessness etc.) Home seems entirely unnecessary now with all of this "share" integration, and the ability to watch what others are playing and jump in to help them out etc.. pretty awesome stuff on the PS4 that does sound both great on paper and will obviously be successful features.
