Yosuke Hayashi is a Tecmo employee and the current head of the development studio Team Ninja (Company). He first came to prominence with his work in directing the development of the DS game Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword and Ninja Gaiden Sigma (Game) for the Playstation 3. Following the turbulent departure of former Team Ninja lead Tomonobu Itagaki (Person), Hayashi was promoted and given the studio's creative reigns. His first projects as Team Ninja lead included Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (Game), which was met with harsh criticisms from fans of Ninja Gaiden II (Game). The maligned Wii title Metroid: Other M also had a lot of negative press. He also created the disastrous Ninja Gaiden 3 (Game), universally panned by fans and journalist alike. Similar things happened with Dead or Alive 5 and 6. A WiiU port of Ninja Gaiden 3 entitled "Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge" attempted fix the issues that fans were critical about on the original release. An outside game designer, Hiroyuki Sakamoto (Person), was brought in to rework enemy AI and combat design. By the time of Ninja Gaiden 4 (Game), Hayashi had completely given up and turned development over to PlatinumGames (Company).
