Violent Vengeance: The Universe Hero is a 2D fighting game released in 1995 for MS-DOS, developed and published by Accend Inc. Lore: Set at the end of the 21st century, the universe has left behind decades of intergalactic wars. To prevent further conflicts, an annual tournament known as "War Sports" is established, where the best fighters from different planets compete to determine who will be the "Hero of the Universe" and, as a prize, obtain the title of President of the Space Federation. The game features a cast of 10 characters, each with similar abilities and fighting styles. The controls are simple: use the A, D, X, and W keys to move your character, while the Tab key is used for special attacks. All characters have the same move list: back + forward + any button, or in some cases, down + back. The AI is spammer, and many features in this game are stolen from other games, such as sprites. There are no official endings or detailed lore for the characters. The cast consists of:

Coyote / Akane Ikeda: An Amazon warrior with a claw-like weapon and pyrokinesis abilities. She seemingly works for the royalty of her planet, as suggested by her stage. She can transform into a flame shaped like a coyote's head or a canine-like form, teleporting above the opponent to strike them. Century / Xiantao: A bow-wielding archer with little information, like most other characters. Her stage is a bridge in a forest. Kenbo: A muscular shirtless man, one of the only characters with an urban stage alongside Polly. His stage is filled with police officers, and he possesses the fastest powers in the game. M. Buseuti: A green anthropomorphic aquatic being capable of transforming into foam. Nimeoseudok: An anthropomorphic dog resembling the Egyptian god of death, Anubis. He can transform into a dog, and his stage soundtrack is a mix of various songs, including Salt-N-Pepa's Push It and "Yeah Boooyy." Polly: The other human character alongside Kenbo. She does not have projectiles, but wields a whip that spans almost the entire stage. Her stage soundtrack likely samples a real song as it features vocals and lyrics. Her victory phrase is "Oh… God." Rogeunja: An alien-like character wearing a loincloth. He possesses two of the most destructive powers in the game, capable of disorienting opponents. His AI is notoriously tricky. S. Deurigeun: A Terminator-esque android that copies the "Hasta la vista, baby" phrase in his victory. Strangely, he does not fall down when defeated, remaining with his feet in the air. Presumably the game's protagonist, as he appears on the title screen and in the intro fighting another character. S. Seutom: A Native American who can transform into a small tornado and also wields pyrokinesis. Taideo: Presumably a criminal based on his stage. His sprite is a direct clone of Zangief from Street Fighter II. He can launch the horns on his shoulders in a liquid form at the enemy, potentially granting hydrokinetic abilities. Cover Art Notes: S. Seutom, Century, Coyote, and S. Deurigeun appear on the game's cover art, but with notable design differences compared to their in-game sprites—especially Coyote.
