Tideward is an idle role-playing game developed and self-published by Manu Games LLC, a one-person studio in Waynesville, North Carolina. It is a single Universal app for Apple platforms: iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, Apple Vision Pro, and Apple Watch, with one purchase and one save shared across all of them through iCloud (CloudKit) sync. The Apple Watch version is a place to play rather than a companion app, and runs a full fight on the wrist.
The player tends a small coastal world through twenty-eight trades: eight combat, seven gathering, nine artisan, and four wayfaring lines. Progression continues in real time and for a true twenty-four hours while the game is closed, at full speed and with no penalty on return. An in-game Harbormaster's Forecast dry-runs the current fight across the offline window and reports whether the character holds or falls, the expected haul, and the time to the next combat level. The game is single player and offline-first, with Game Center achievements and leaderboards as its only social layer, and ships in sixteen languages.
Tideward is built in native Swift and SwiftUI with no third-party engine, and links no analytics, crash reporters, or ad networks. It is a free download with a single one-time $9.99 unlock and optional cosmetic purchases; there are no ads, subscriptions, loot boxes, or premium currency.
The game was developed under the working title Manu Idle and renamed Tideward in May 2026. A public TestFlight alpha ran ahead of release, and App Store pre-orders opened on August 28, 2026. The App Store release is scheduled for February 11, 2027.
