When demons overrun their village, a band of peasants starts a crusade to unite the land against the evil forces. Skirmish is a pick-up and play side-scrolling brawler. The player controls up to 3 characters with a single button. It features cooperative and competitive game modes.

Overview

Skirmish is a one-button local party game by Extra Nice. The side-scrolling world can be explored in a condensed cooperative or single-player campaign. The player has to defeat opposing factions to unlock their characters and playstyles for the campaign and the PvP oriented arena and tournament modes. In the arena, two teams of players or AI face each other in a small level in short rounds of 8 to 30 seconds. Each player controls 1 to 3 characters at once and tries to time jumps, attacks, and dodges. Skirmish also features a tournament mode where any amount of players can join. Players are pitted one-against-one in hot seat style matches until only one player remains.

Controls

In Skirmish a player uses only a single button. All character actions are controlled by it:

Pressing the button makes the character(s) jump
Releasing makes them attack
Double tapping turns your team around
Holding the button makes them run

Development State

While it is still under development, a playable demo of Skirmish is already available on itch.io.
