Overview

Sega Ages 2500 Series Vol. 28: Tetris Collection is a puzzle game compilation developed by M2 (Company) and published by Sega (Company) for the PlayStation 2 (Platform) exclusively in Japan on September 28, 2006. Part of the Sega Ages 2500 series of classic Sega game compilations, Tetris Collection features Sega's three earliest arcade adaptations of Tetris (Franchise) (Tetris (Game), Flash Point (Game), and Bloxeed (Game)) along with a remixed version of Sega's 1988 Tetris (known as "Tetris: New Century") with modern rules.

Tetris: New Century

Tetris: New Century is a remixed version of Sega's 1988 game Tetris (Game), updated to match the standardized rules of modern Tetris games (as noted by the Tetris Company's official specifications). This includes the modern "rotation system", modern color scheme for tetrominoes, three-piece previews, a Hold system, and use of the series' standard Krobeiniki musical theme. It includes five game modes:

  • Marathon - Complete 150 lines as fast as you can.
  • 40 Line - Clear 40 lines as fast as you can.
  • Ultra - Score as many points in three minutes.
  • Extra - Endless mode.
  • Versus - Two-player mode with garbage block rows.
