Saving Mr. Sparkles is a tough 2D platformer that is all about building and maintaining momentum. The player has to use slopes to jump higher, or to gain speed. This allows for jumps that are way further and/or higher than would be achievable by normal means. This results in interesting, complex, and challenging gameplay. The story on the other hand is very simple. The main character's cat runs away, and she then chases after him to try and get him back. The cat is visible at the end of the level. But when the player reaches him, he runs away again and the next level starts.
